I feel like USC is a different team with Wijay in there. Like a team that can make a deep run into the NCAA. Reminds me a lot like Keao Burdine from back in the days. Smart, has power, and contributes consistently. A good 1-2 punch alongside Fields. I did not see a team that can make a deep run, unless we’re saying a Sweet 16 is a deep run. I did see a team that was good enough to grind out a win against a Washington State team that lost their mojo. But since I don’t think USC is going to host, even a Sweet 16 run would be really impressive to me. I can’t get over a feeling when watching the Trojans that they’re not as talented as I think they should be, even when they’re pulling out a great win. Which this was. Yes like a Sweet 16 run, nothing further than that tho

McGinest was definitely an mvp for me! Don’t know her exact stat line but something around 13k with no errors? For someone who doesn’t get much playing time she did so good coming in. Also s/o goeghagan. I think she passed and played defense really good when I’ve been iffy about her this whole season. Has she been injured? She’s way better offensively than Miller. They should keep starting her no I think just simply beat out and miller has more experience. But she definitely got more playing time this weekend so I wouldn’t be surprised if she cracks the line up soon if she stays consistent

Has USC lost a match that Wijay has started this season? I cannot recall them losing one. I think she is their second most important player. She stabilizes their whole line-up because she is a plus passer and can pair with Trubint to pass 75% of the floor in 6 rotations. Without her, their passing is extremely suspect. Hopefully she remains healthy the rest of the way. Started? I dont think so But she did play significant time against hawaii and lost. that was week 2 where she was still finding her groove. I think it was the Purdue match where she really blossomed. Not making excuses cus hawaii was 100% the better team then but I do wonder how it would be if it were rn

Yes, I recall them losing to Hawaii when Wijay was ramping up and getting used to both the team and college volleyball. But once she became comfortable the team really came together and leveled up significantly. They do not have another player like her on the squad unfortunately.
Losing Wilson will really hurt USC next year. Her skill set is very similar to Skylar Fields (though not quite at Fields' level). She would have been a perfect replacement for her as the go-to hitter to get a kill. Not sure who will be able to fill that role for USC next year.

All you need to do is read Wijays high school background to know how good she is and how good she can be. I didn’t realize it until a recent game where she went off and took notice of her.
