Missed serves don't bother me as much as they do some people, unless they come on match points or set points.

Holy moly. Crazy dig and set from off the court to the bic, then Fields puts it away for set point.
24-21.
WSU sides out. 24-22.
Service error for the win!
USC wins the set. I know USC fans wouldn't necessarily agree, but that's a moral victory as far as I'm concerned. WSU looks like they're on a different planet talent wise, but USC really stuck in there. I'm impressed. I thought when WSU came back to take the lead it was over.
Let's see if they can do it again!

Missed serves don't bother me as much as they do some people, unless they come on match points or set points. It's better obviously if it's not on the first serve. If it comes after winning a couple of points, well, you're ahead of the game at that point. I hate letting the opponent get a 3 pass waaaaaaay worse than a service error as long as a team is trying to serve aggressively. I think the biggest reason people focus so much on service errors is because we have a terrible box score for measuring serving efficiency. All we have are aces and errors, and that's a terrible ratio metric to use for judging the effectiveness of serves. I wish they'd keep track of points scored off service rotation. That's not perfect, either, but it would be easy to keep track of, and it would add so much drama to match commentary.

Hmm. I thought the Women were out of it, and I thought Wazzu would close out the 3rd. But SC has a little bit of momentum and this could get interesting...

Nice ace there by the Trojans.
To me one of the keys to the last set is getting out to a fast start. They were up 8-4 early on last set, which was a huge change from the first two sets where they fell way behind early on and then were just dominated the rest of the way.

I wish the camera angle would let us see the alleged rotation violations.

R2 calls Wazzu out of rotation two plays in a row. OMG. Thank you for saying this. I didn't have the commentary on and thought the Washington State players just watched the ball hit the court after serve receive.
