Agree. Young coach who was not experienced enough to be head coach but was thrown in there to fill spot in the last minute. A few years as an assistant would be good. They had several players transfer this year. Hopefully they do their due diligence and get a qualified coach in there that does some good recruiting.

If you look at the coachg staff at URI-- and compare it to those in their conference-- there is an inbalance in support - one HC and one Asst-- no way they can compete with a Loyola or Dayton who have full staffs and positions like a director of ops. In 22' they dealt with many injuries/concussions which put many young players on the court. Angel has the energy and love for the game-- I look forward to seeing where she ends up!

She was fired. Look at her record. They also fired the last coach the same way. Well that’s a lie. They didn’t fire the last coach for his record. If you are going to make posts like that make sure they are correct. |

The results are certainly bad. But it was surprising to me that she got hired. Two years as a volunteer assistant at Wisky, one year as AC at URI, and then HC!? Doesn't seem like she was set up for success, which is too bad. Yup, she was put in a difficult position when the last coach was allowed to resign after accusations from his players. Angel stepped up for the team as a young coach in a tough market. I am excited for her next chapter! Yes accusations that were proven to be very false. They were wrong in promoting her, she didn’t have the knowledge. They had the time to hire they chose not to, they would rather pay a young coach cheaply. |

Definitely a caveat emptor. - Fired the coach before her because the admins didn't want to deal with the fall out, even though they created a false narrative.
- Promoted a young coach before she was ready to be a head coach because they are cynical enough to hope that people will give them credit for all the wrong reasons.
- Setting her up for failure by not giving her enough support to achieve their expectations. Fully knowing that this was going to happen, and not caring.
- Snuffing out a potentially good coaching career before it had gotten on track because they needed to CYA.

Again this has nothing to do with VB, it has to do with the individual at hand. Two years at NC Central, jump to NC State for better everything, leave there suddenly after just a year to go to George Washington? Not a lateral move at all, then to URI and out of nowhere resign after a year? Use your brain, this is more about him. I’m going to just come out and say it, he’s a pervert. Information, well yes I have information. The really sad part is that he’ll keep getting hired at other places because many schools don’t do background checks or investigate the person they’re hiring. |

Downright lies. 3 years after the guy has left coaching, on a thread not about him you want to lie. To call a person a pervert is a huge accusation so we expect to see examples. Not generalizations, but explicit examples. It very much seems like you have something against him, something person so you are taking it behind an anonymous name to try to ruin his life. Unacceptable. That’s the problem with boards like this. People behind anonymous names can post whatever they want with zero basis to ramp up a frenzy. To call someone a pervert without explicit examples is unethical and speaks to the fact that you just are trying to ruin someone’s name |
