I hope Irvine wins, but I have to switch to Athletes Unlimited and root for Team Hilley! I have a Hilley AU shirt, in an actual drunk purchase that was not a regret! LOL! I love this. I watched some of Team Hilley yesterday and it was nice to see her out there. Had a great day in 2014, going to Minneapolis for the season opening Badger match against Louisville. The Badgers looked good and swept, Bates almost decapitated a Louisville defender on a line shot for her first collegiate kill, and Carlini went into the stands after and hugged a high school aged woman (Hilley). I didn't know that exchange meant 9 years of very good Badger setting!

There's no UCSB-UCI thread, but UCI is now up 2-1 on UCSB!

The last set looked like the Hawai'i I want to see tomorrow and next weekend! The middle attack was it all night!

It's good for Hawaii fans but not that good for the conference. It would be for Hawai'i fans. USCB is in pretty good shape at any rate.

This is the group I like in the starting lineup, but I'd like to see positions switched for Riley and Paula so that Paula, and not Riley, is next to Kate. That rotation with Riley, Kennedi and Kate up front with Caylen, Paula and Tayli in the back is the weakest hitting rotation and not the best defensively. Especially when Paula is being hidden in serve-receive and Riley has to pass and then hit, sometimes all Kate can do is high ball it to her. By my informal count, that rotation went a collective 5-7, with the other rotations a collective 70–41.

Is “regular season champion” still a thing? If so, I think Hawaii would have the tiebreaker over UCSB if they both have two losses because of quality of the losses.

It would just be for seeding implications come the Big West tournament.

That might be good if Hawaii can avoid LBSU in the second round. But I guess I’m really counting my chickens . . .

Yeah the Big West doesn't recognize the regular season champion anymore. It's all about the tournament.
