UCI does it! They win 3-1. UCI's Libero and Middles were brilliant.
UCSB finally reaches the Top 25 and loses.

UCSB finally reaches the Top 25 and loses. Kind of like what happened to us. Congrats to UCI.

My joy that Hawai'i has a path to the regular season Big West title is now tempered! I hope both get healthy very soon, like by next weekend at the earliest!

Coming in on Top of the BWC Regular season is now in the Wahine Team's hands. Win the rest of the BWC regular season, the Wahine Team will be the Top Seed in the BWC Tournament. What you do not want is to face LBSU in the Semi-Final match, in the Pyramid. The way it looks right now, the 2 teams in the BWC Tournament Final Match, will be in the NCAA Tournament, if it is Hawaii, UCSB, or LBSU.

The one thing about Paula Guersching, when it comes to OOS swings is that she knows how to use the block to her advantage. She will either tool the block, or go for high hands. Rarely does she try to force the ball through the block.

Is “regular season champion” still a thing? If so, I think Hawaii would have the tiebreaker over UCSB if they both have two losses because of quality of the losses. Not necessarily correct. The tie break for the seeding is win/loss against common opponents and then comparison based on the best record in conference matches against common opponents beginning at the top of the standings and working down until the tie is broken. So, let's assume Hawaii beats UCSB in the rematch and neither team loses to anyone else. Hawaii and UCSB would be 1-1 against each other. Hawaii would be 1-1 against Long Beach (currently third in the conference) while UCSB would be 2-0. UCSB would get the top seed in the tournament, while Hawaii would be seeded #2 and face #3 Long Beach in the tournament. For Hawaii to be the top seed, they would need to beat UCSB, hope that UCSB loses to someone else in conference, and go undefeated the rest of the way.

Long Beach and UCSB have not played the rematch yet. Santa Barbara is 1-0 against the Beach. Correct, and that's based on the assumption UCSB beats Long Beach. The point is that UCSB needs to lose to someone else and Hawaii, and Hawaii has to run the table and not lose to anyone else in order to get the top seed for the tournament, and likely avoid #3 Long Beach at Long Beach in the tournament.

need 12-15 kills, 5-6 digs, and 4-5 blocks from Amber ! Caylen, just look alive girl!😭 My attention will be focused on Caylen. In both of Hawaii’s two conference losses, Kendra and Tali each hit zero or negative at the opposite position. It will be hard to get by either of those teams, especially in the tournament, without production from the right side. Caylen - 4 kills for .083. That OP position still not producing offense tonight. Actually, I don’t even know how many of her kills were from the right-front.

UCSB was without Farmer and their top middle. Yikes. I wonder how long more those two will be out.

These CSUN commentators are DRAGGING the team. “One of the worst performances the first time against Hawaii.”
CSUN player serves the ball right into a teammates back “nothing too surprising, I hate to say it. She stands so deep, we’ve seen that before. Sometimes the ball barely reaches the net, this time it didn’t even reach the net.” Just reading the team and the players.

Why are you gonna triple block Wagoner when she is having a bad night hitting?
