I think the midseason addition of Onabanjo will give Baylor the edge.

I’m just hoping we don’t get Mr. Big Overhand for the FS1 broadcast again

Wait does baylor really DS ALL of their pins? How in the hell do they not run out of subs I mean technically it’s like a 6-2 with a DS, a la Wisconsin

Isn’t their side out percentage extremely high? I feel like Baylor doesn’t have that luxury

Yes, without Stowers, Baylor has been using a DS for all 3 pin hitters. Keene was the DS for Sczech but has moved to DS’ing for McGhee while Ulufatu comes in for Sczech now. They did run out of subs in the second set of the first match against UCF, but during that set, no one led by more than 1 point until the score was 26-24. Using three DS’s has provided really good benefits for Baylor. Their serve receive has looked the best it has all season, and Ulufatu and Keene have looked comfortable defensively with the switch.

I feel like Baylor doesn’t have that luxury Side Out % for Baylor over the last 4 matches- Cincy M1- 66% Cincy M2- 71% UCF M1- 67% UCF M2- 72%

If Texas plays like they did against BYU, they'll sweep this

I'm not sure many people tuned in to Baylor vs. UCF, but Baylor absolutely dominated the series. Their offense has looked the best it has all season, and it has been led by the serve receive of Briseno and Co. Baylor was aced just 4 times by UCF over the weekend, who is 3rd in the nation in aces/set with 2.23. I thought Stowers was a pretty good passer when she was healthy, but serve receive has looked improved with the addition of Ulufatu into the lineup.
With the improved serve receive has come an even faster offense than before. The connection between Carlson and McGhee/Simpson is QUICK, and the middles have been doing just enough to free up some attention from the two.
Of course, Texas is a much different opponent than UCF and Cincinnati, and playing two in Austin is going to be tough. But if McGhee is able to play how she has against Texas in the past, and she gets help from Simpson and Bibinbe, this could be a competitive series of matches. Plus, with the way McGuyre makes adjustments on night 2, I could see Baylor getting the upset in the second match. Too bad that one will be on LHN.
