I might post in TX threads more often just for the pleasure of reading horns1’s two remaining brain cells arguing with each other post match. A pleasure. I love you posting in all the threads. I didn’t agree with you regarding Elliott arguing with refs and how that reflects on him as a human being, but overall I think you have great comments, you have a fantastic sense of humor, and you add a ton to almost any thread you participate in, match thread or otherwise. I felt like you were giving your authentic reaction to what you were seeing, even if I disagreed with it. It’s not like you were the only person with that reaction. Your’s was just a little stronger is all. Also, I hope you and the people you love are in relative safety in Israel. |

I know I have strong feelings about his demeanor, but I also think I'm very fair and always give him his flowers. I love his development of setters (Shook is an anomaly), and his development of hitters is the best in the country. Wenaas will learn at TX, so the decision makes sense for her ultimately. His demeanor and defensive strategy sticks out compared to the rest of his ability and it's kind of bizarre to me which is prob why I take cheap shots at him sometimes lol. I can acknowledge that. Thanks for the kind words! Not really such a thing as safety in ISR, but I split my time with NYC and went back there about 6 days before things got chaotic. Feeling fortunate to have that option, but very sad for the realities of what's happening to both Israelis an residents of Gaza. It's an extremely unfortunate situation. It's not a Texas match without Elliott yelling about something. It's much better when a head coach just sits on the bench and stares down at their clipboard . . .  This is sarcasm, right? Because it's hard to argue against Russ Rose and his 7 National Championships... |

This is not shade what so ever, but texas has by far to be the worst first set team in the top ten They have looked AWFUL in the first set multiple times this season, then just turn it to another gear. Oh trust me, we know. 😳 |

do we not remember the 2020 series with baylor? lol one match, baylor goes up 2-0 just to have texas do a reverse sweep. other match, texas goes up 2-0, just to have baylor tie it up at 2-2 and the Horns prevailed in the 5th.
This team, aye yi yi lol the angina they give me sometimes. I can't imagine how frustrating the slow starts are for the coaches and even opposing coaches as you're trying to scout/coach against them. We really are the Jekyll/Hyde team of the season. Getting Texas in your regional could either be a gift, or your worst nightmare depending on the team that shows up lol I'm hoping that by then, we'll be full Hyde and be back in our villain era hehe

Ew, just read this thread.
Some of y’all genuinely need to touch some MF grass. 🫠 To bring his personal life into this and compare how he treats his wife to him being upset about bad refs in a volleyball game is crazy.
It’s terrible a in the volleyball community players/ coaches can never show frustration, anger, or confidence without the same accounts crying 24/7. If you feel upset about a coach fussing at refs, I don’t recommend sports for you, I recommend a therapist.

Successful? He gets the best talent in the country each year and has only won 2 titles. Maybe he’s good a recruiting/branding the program, but surely not good at developing players. He definitely wouldn’t get the head coaching job if he applied for it today. Pretty sure Elliot has the emotional intelligence of a 5 year old Nomination for most clueless post ever on VT. Extremely high emotional intelligence is perhaps the #1 reason JE has been so successful coaching women's volleyball. |

Pretty much in life and sports, it's not how you start, but how you finish! It's disappointing to see a handful of Texas fans totally give up on the team after getting down 0-2 last night and concede the victory to Baylor. Some fans just haven't accepted yet that this 2023 squad is not the 2022 squad. While playing from behind isn't what I want to see, I can't help but acknowledge that this squad never gives up (like a handful of our fans) and fights until the last point has been played. I only hope these recent 5-set matches will help our team in similar matches during the post-season. |
