Wait this was new to you? I do not remember seeing both teams all huddled up in a prayer circle, no. I’ve seen BAYLOR players in a prayer circle after a game in plenty of sports. I have not seen the opponent gather with them. Especially on camera. Is that something you’ve often seen? Yes. Like *extremely* often and I would imagine I've watched less Big 12 volleyball than you over the years lol. No big deal, just odd//surprising you weren't familiar with the custom.

Between sets 2 and 3 the announcers mentioned that Jerritt said these are the top 2 blocking middles he’s ever had at UT. Surely just some coach speak to praise the current team, and I think Asjia could arguably be up there but you have to put Chiaka in that top 2. She was unreal. The only way that makes sense is as a pair. He’s often publicly poured on praise regarding Bergmark’s blocking ability. He did it last year, too, even while he was playing Caffey over her. Remember, she came to Texas from Cal mostly known for her ability to attack out of the middle. Blocking is going to be a big determinate in Texas making it to another Final four, especially if they’re playing in someone else’s region, which I think they will. Wherever O’Neal and Bergmark rank individually or as a pair, there’s no doubt UT’s block this year is elite. If Elliott wants to throw some hyperbole in there, I’m fine with it.

Like I said, I’m familiar with the custom. Just don’t see the opponent join in very much. The custom, at least in volleyball, has always been inviting the other team to come pray with them. It’s happened at every Baylor/Texas match I’ve attended the last 4 years.

Or for sure hadn’t been paying attention, which seems like the bigger culprit here.

Chiaka is goated, and Morgan Johnson could hold her own, but in terms of blocking (not attacking) this might be his strongest tandem. That’s what I got from it.

Much better play on the court for Texas tonight, and much better quality posting in this thread compared to last night. I guess Texas not losing a set to start the match kept fans from other programs away from this thread and allowed them time to focus on other matches.

Baylor scores off the touch. 24-20. Elliott calls a timeout.
