Hey all, I am already looking forward to next season. Next season's Wahine Team will be more talented then this year's team is. The only question will be, how well will they play together. In other words, what will the chemistry be, that is the only question. If the chemistry is there, next year's team will be very dangerous. Two reasons why, Victoria Leyva and Stella Adeyemi. But mainly Victoria Leyva. Please stop lol

You know what, I just hope that you keep the excitement and energy when the new Wahine struggle. Fans know they will be down an all-american so there most likely will be growing pains. i don’t care personally if the team is struggling ill always watch and support Hawaii no matter what. Lots of programs have ups and downs I’m reading all this others comments that are so negative. The team is what it is.. they don’t seem to want to play Stella and that’s the only irritating part personally that bothers me. Other than that I just like to watch Hawaii play I get the Stella thing but if you have the capacity to put yourself in RAMs shoes, try to. When she's trying to keep the big picture (the jostling for position in the tournament) and the little picture (individual matches and decisions) in view, it makes it hard to say "I'll play a true freshman that has limited minutes over a: sophomore and Big West FOY, a junior transfer POY, 2 seniors that can pass and play all-around and a older freshman that has played for her national team and can play all the way around, I'm sure you can see how the probability of actually inserting a freshman all of a sudden becomes a little dicey right? I don't completely disagree with you but that's a tough decision to sift through for any coach.

The wins against lesser competition have been fine, but in important matches against top teams in the conference the buttons she’s pushing aren’t working. Ergo, time to push some new buttons, before it’s too late.

So I take it with this loss, it's a "NO" to the banquet?

There could be many reasons for her not doing certain things. We are not privy to every inner working of the team. I don't have enough fingers to count how many times I've walked into a practice or a week of training as a guest coach and been like, "ah okay, that's why you are pulling this trigger." Just playing devil's advocate to remind everyone that it's not as easy as it seems.

In wake of tonight’s disappointment, It does occur to me that the loss could be a blessing in disguise. Now that the Wahine have no realistic chance of obtaining an at-large bid into the NCAA tournament, wins and losses leading up to the Big West tournament mean less, giving Robyn more freedom to resume experimenting with the lineup.
She’s tried so many combinations already, and before tonight it looked like she might have found one capable of carrying the team to a championship, but clearly that’s not the case. So heck, she may as well go ahead and start Stella in some upcoming matches, and try some other things too, in hopes of catching lightning in a bottle.

Lol good try.. even if we get into the tourney by winning the big west we won’t make it past the first or second round…..

Ouch this one hurts. I was hoping to wake up to opening this thread and seeing only a few number of pages. This loss hurts.

Some of you "fans" are like yoyo's. Worst team ever.... Don't deserve.... yada yada. Then they win again and you're right back in. Some of you fans "don't deserve". That's all I'll say about that. As for the match, it's hard to believe after that first set that they could lose the match. Inconsistency unfortunately defines this team. And I agree that this team lacks a verbal leader. I remember Jolie in her way too short Wahine career, between points clapping and yelling "come on. Lets go". We don't have that right now. Tali may be that kind of player in the future. She's not on the court now but when she is, she brings a fire. But she's a freshman so let's see what next year brings in that regard. Tough loss but this season is not over. Like Robin said after the match, they'll have more chances. Go bows.

I think I’ve been pretty consistent in my criticism of this team, and that’s not going to change for the rest of this season. This particular Wahine team is not it. They’re the epitome of the “insanity” argument. And losing to Cal Poly at home in the retro jerseys is unforgivable. This team will be memorable for all the wrong reasons.

The Robyn I know wouldn't accept anything other than her being the Alpha, but this season I noticed that she was allowing herself to show a softer side. I'm not sure how much of it is a philosophical change in approach (or whether it's voluntary or forced) or just a personal change in her perspective. However, it's very likely the team notices it too, and the lack of leadership by any of the senior players could be because they aren't leaders, or it might be because they don't entirely believe or trust that they are actually allowed to be leaders. That last part is entirely on Robyn, and I think that she hasn't yet figured out how to be an Alpha without howling.

I don’t have it in me to watch the replay. Did Stella play? If how’d she do?
