DePaul's entire roster with remaining eligibility is in the portal as of yesterday. They went winless in the Big East and fired coach mid-season. Chris Holtmann was named the new head coach a few weeks ago.

Arkansas may end up hiring Chris Beard. Obviously, there's a reason why he's potentially available after just one year at Ole Miss rather than still at Texas, but it's hard to argue that he wouldn't be a good replacement for Musselman strictly from a coaching standpoint.

NC State and Purdue will tip off shortly. Before that happens, I'll rank the possible national title winners in terms of best story:
1. NC State--they would go from bid stealer to national champion. This would be among the best tournament stories of all time. 2. UConn--they would be the first defending champion to repeat in nearly 20 years. Continued dominance (i.e. double digit wins) would be a bonus. 3. Purdue--this would be higher if Virginia hadn't already done it, which makes Purdue feel like a sequel to a great movie that is derivative and not as good. 4. Alabama--does anyone other than Alabama fans and Greg Sankey actually want them to win a title in basketball?

NC St is swimming up stream and didn’t do themselves any favors but have done a good job of fighting to get back into this game.

NC St is swimming up stream and didn’t do themselves any favors but have done a good job of fighting to get back into this game. They had a few headscratching plays to start that I'm sure they want back. Tripping on a fast break, missed uncontested dunk, and airballing an open 3. I'm glad they've settled in. It feels like Purdue should be up more.

Purdue leads 35-29 at half. I don't have tbs so am not watching the game but I get the impression that even if NC state can keep the deficit in single digits, they have no chance to win.
We will see if this ages well. I'm rooting for the Wolfpack.

Middlebrooks is staying in with 3 fouls to guard Edey. He has fared pretty well so far since he switched onto Edey.

Of course I needed an NC State win to move up in my private pool. Now I'm relegated to no better than 8th. Damn Purdue.

Just noticed Austin’s very own Gary Clark Jr on the NCAA commercial.

Alabama will not let UConn pull away. They are letting them play, physical game.

8-0 run by UConn gives them a 64-56 lead with 10 left.
