I'm not caught up on injuries... if someone wants to correct me on the likely starters, I'll update them.

As a Hawaii fan, I admit it's super hard to get motivated now that I know it's all about the Big West Tournament. But I'll cheer nonetheless.
I guess I just want to see signs of improvement but against the bad teams in the Big West it's super hard to tell.

Hope the Wahine can bounce back after those 2 home losses and show some fire this weekend.

I hope UH is working on it's serving and especially passing. They've been gifting too many free balls and points to the other side lately.

Attendance records being set all over the country in 2023, and Irvine decides to negate that possibility while honoring the 2003 NCAA Tournament team by moving the match to a smaller venue, after playing in the larger one the whole season before the last home weekend. Great job, Irvine! I looked, no men's or women's hoops that night, plenty of time to reset for the hoops doubleheader on Saturday, especially with the 6 PM local start. Lame. Just lame.

Not to be overly negative, but the coaches have been droning on and on over several years about the serve and pass portion of the game being critical and they've not shown much improvement in either serving or passing. I don't expect them to make big strides now, in mid-season (but I remain hopeful).

Considering what the team has been through recently, that's the biggest obstacle to their success. But like you, I'm hopeful.

Just lame. ucirvinesports.com/sports/bren-events-center/schedule shows women's basketball at 2:00 pm on Saturday, with men's basketball at 7:00. Short turnaround, sure, but the crew at Stan Sheriff always finds a way to come through such schedule crunches. I've been to Crawford Hall. It reminds me of Titan Gym, with stands on only one sideline of the court. At least Titan has baseline seats; I don't remember there being any baseline seats at Crawford.

If that's the reason for the switch in venues, that really ticks me off. I was really looking forward to seeing the Wahine Friday night. Come on Wahine, show the Anteaters you can thrive in a small gym environment!

UCI's home attendance vs LBSU, Cal Poly and UCSB was in the 500's. Those are three of the top teams and draws for UCI outside Hawaii. If they double or come close to tripling that number Crawford Hall is big enough. IMO the team wants more of a home court advantage and with those crowd numbers Crawford will be louder and look packed. Better winning environment than an empty and hollow sounding Bren Center.
