Her Visa expired and she couldn’t get it renewed 😢 that’s interesting… i guess I assumed it could be changed from a student one to whatever athletes use Visa's are such a pain in the $%^$ especially coming from certain countries --> USA. But in Shemanova's case, what does this mean for her Syracuse employment? Isn't she still coaching at Syracuse - or did she resign from that position? There are some other athlete visas that I'm wondering if she tried to go that route and it got denied or whatever. So sad. Shemanova is one of my favorites. She mentioned wanting to stay in the United States AND wanting to play professional volleyball, so, it was a dream for her.

I think she was going to school at Newhouse while she was coaching this past season. So still a student. I don't know how much the US wants to deal with Russian passports at the moment.

It’s crappy situation because she definitely wanted to stay.
