Masters vs Park tomorrow just got more interesting. Is the winner ranked #1 assuming Masters beats Benu Saturday too.
Should Vanguard stay #1 if they haven’t played a game? Personally I would rather see the teams that have played the first two weeks and earned quality wins be rewarded versus Vanguard sitting at 0-0.

If somehow Master's wins both, how could you not put them #!? Beating #2,#3 and and 2 other top 10 teams and beating Vanguard 4-2 in their scrimmage at Vanguard 2 weeks ago. All games have been road games also.

I agree but unfortunately they probably won't take vanguard off that #1 spot until that drop a match

I am still trying to wrap my head around what happened with BenU Mesa last night. Shortly after the stream was fixed, Landon Fuller was taken out of the second set and he left again early in the third. I wonder if he was hurt or sick. That could explain a lot about how that match went last night. He only had 14 attempts.

As far as rankings go, I agree the winner of tonight's game between Park and Masters has a legitimate argument for being ranked number one. If it is Masters, it really wont matter because this will be hashed out when Masters and Vanguard play at least twice in matches that count. As far as the scrimmage goes, if it was anything like their first scrimmage, the teams approached it vastly differently as Vanguard only played what I assume is going to be their starters for one set. Not sure how the second scrimmage went.

I do have to give credit to teams that we have seen on the court and have good wins but by that logic, BenU Mesa should also have dropped last week if the NAIA did weekly rankings, just because they did not play during the opening weekend.

Vanguard posted on Instagram about "media day". I am hoping that means we will finally get a roster from them soon. But then again, we might have to wait and see who plays when they open the season next Thursday.

Master looked really good dismantling Park 3-0. Not sure of the score in the first set but was 25-23 and 25-15 in second and third.

Masters could be the team to beat followed closely behind by. Vanguard (assuming but haven’t seen them yet) and Grand View.

Masters defeated BenU in 4, 25-19, 20-25, 25-18, 25-19

Masters hit .406 to BenU .186

Masters' middles combined had 16 kills on 22 attempts with just 2 errors.

Good luck trying to figure out what the next top 15 will look like this next week. Where to start?
- Masters number 1?
- Does Vanguard move or stay 1?
- Reaction to Benu going 0-2
- Park or Grand View at the top of HOA?
- OUAZ drops how far and how much does Jamestown go up?
- Saint Xavier struggles but against top teams
- Menlo wasn’t great against Merced but won so any change?

I think Masters has to be #1 after 2 convincing wins.
Vanguard moves down to 2 since they haven't played.

BenU probably drops to bottom half of the top 10.
Looking at BenU's schedule they could be staring at a rough start if they don't figure things out quick. They get ACU, Masters, Vanguard, then Menlo.

This is what I’d go with for this upcoming week:

1. Masters- great resume already
2. Vanguard- unknown
3. Park- tie at 3 with Grand View. Park has better win with Benu but Grand View played Masters very close. Conference ranking will determine 3/4 or potential tie
3. Grand View
5. Benu- tough start but both to top 5 teams so can’t drop too far yet
6. OUAZ- loss to Jamestown but still the “3” in GSAC
7. Menlo- wasn’t impressed in 5 set match vs Merced but no reason for movement
8. William Penn- only loss to OUAZ
9. Jamestown- rewarded for OUAZ upset
10. Indiana Tech- beat Georgetown
11. Georgetown- drop just below due to loss to IT
12. Missouri Baptist- beat banged up Saint Xavier
13. Saint Xavier- injuries aren’t helping but need to start getting some results. Losses to top teams
14. Mount Mercy- congrats on playing freebies
15. Missouri Valley- this could be a few different teams but I just think this is the best that is in receiving votes right now

Agree very much with this.  I would have Grand View over Park, but not sure if the Heart will rank it that way. Also, I would probably drop BenU Mesa down a little more to maybe 6-7 range.  The loses were against two high ranked teams but they did not look very good against Park, but did look much better against Masters.  Still not sold on Jamestown but do have a win against OUAZ (do think OUAZ would beat them if they played again).
