Baylor must be out of subs Both teams ran out of subs. That happens when the sideout % is this good. Baylor running out sooner was critical. Kansas wasn't going to easily last much longer with Cooper in the backrow.

Baylor actually hadn’t quite run out of subs when I posted this- it looked like they were holding on to one to prevent a DS from entering into the front row. It did ultimately lead to Murphy going back to the service line which may have been her first service attempt on the season.

The ability of everyone (except Elnady) to just easily hit over the block and find the floor has been amazing in this set. Elnady - she has been able to tool. Cooper and Elnady have combined for 21 kills and 0 errors on 37 swings. That is nowhere close to sustainable.

Grade A performance by Kansas. They cannot play better than this. Hope to carry this over to BYU on Friday.

17 kills hitting .500 tonight for Cooper. Welcome back! Very good player for Kansas Another big difference was Onabanjo/Myers going 14 kills on 30 attempts and 0 errors. I think there were a couple slides from Onabanjo and a couple overpasses - the rest was in front of the setter kills. This is something that Kansas has been bad all season at - and particularly bad in both matches with Iowa State. Finding that connection to the middles (besides the slide) is the final missing piece for this team to be very good.

Very, very good match for Kansas. Hard to beat a team firing on all cylinders like that.
Baylor didn’t play awfully, besides maybe that first set. They just don’t come up with big plays at the right moments. Losing that 2nd set was tough. So much potential and talent on the team, I still just don’t sense enough on-court leadership from anyone. Tonight, they played 3 freshmen, 4 sophomores, and 2 juniors (one of who is in her first year of D1 volleyball). These are the growing pains many expected last season. Excited for the future, crying through the present.

Excited for the future, crying through the present. Yeah - the 1st set wasn't good, a lot of errors. They were great in the 2nd set, just couldn't close the set out and Kansas played Very well in that set. Murphy looked good. Szech looks like a really good RS. McGhee and Bibinbe can score. The real problem is not having Stowers. She has to be the most important player to this team - and losing her is huge. Stowers with either Murphy or McGhee is very good - Murphy and McGhee w/o Stowers is much harder.
