A double, antenna, serve error, hitting error in the last five points. Kansas deserved this match. That first set may have been the best set that Kansas played tonight (well, they were also very good in the 2nd set). BYU was just outstanding in that 1st set. BYU is still in very good shape for a seed - they just now need to win both next week.

Holy moly.
From a quality of opponent perspective, this is the biggest win for KU I can remember since 2019 maybe (sorry hampered Creighton 2021 team)?
Kudos to BYU’s Livingston though. It felt like in the first 3 sets she hit .750 or something like that.
It had it’s moments, but the Kansas serve receive has been strong since the beginning of the season, and I think that was the difference for KU.

Just rewatched this. Reagan Cooper has an incredible swing and had an amazing match. Like wow — I am so impressed.

The competition for the Big 12 titie is going to be fierce next season. I could see this series becoming a much watch in years to come.

Just rewatched this. Reagan Cooper has an incredible swing and had an amazing match. Like wow — I am so impressed. Cooper's improvement over the season has been huge - and I think a lot has to do with Turner and Cooper being on the same page on the type of set she wants. Here are her hitting % in Conference play. Texas Tech .444 (13k) Texas Tech .478 (13k) Houston .294 (20k) Houston .600 (15k) Texas .333 (17k) Texas .033 (8k) TCU .424 (14k) West Virginia .476 (11k) West Virginia .478 (13k) Kansas State .043 (4k) - Injured Kansas State - Injured Iowa State - Injured Iowa State - Injured Baylor .516 (17k) BYU .429 (25k) Compare this to the non-conference: Pepperdine .308 (10k) Omaha .522 (14k) Purdue .267 (18k) Marquette .156 (12k) Wichita State .265 (21k) Colorado .024 (7k) Oral Roberts .500 (2k) Bellarmine .125 (2k) New Hampshire .476 (10k) Texas State .467 (7k) She has clearly gotten better - hitting over .424 in 9 of her 12 conference matches. 1 off night against Texas and another where she 'only' hit .333 against Texas, and then the K-State game where she got injured. Compared to the non-conference where she only had 3 of the 10 (2 being the last 2 of the nonconference season) hitting that high - with one of them being against Oral Roberts where the starters didn't play that much, and she only had 4 swings. There was a point this season - where she became a vastly better player and a very consistent one.

The competition for the Big 12 titie is going to be fierce next season. I could see this series becoming a much watch in years to come. I just hope that Kansas, Baylor, and BYU are playing each other twice every season (and going back to home and home matches). With the expanded conference - no telling how the schedule will work other than BYU/Utah, Kansas/Kansas State, Arizona/Arizona State will be playing each other twice.

I would think you play every team once and then 4 common opponents another time. Same would work for basketball with the exception of Oklahoma State of course not having volleyball. For volleyball, I would do: Kansas K-State Iowa State West Virginia Cincinnati TCU Texas Tech Baylor Houston UCF Utah BYU Colorado Arizona Arizona State You’d play the same amount of games (18) as now. I know that doesn’t bring BYU/Baylor/KU together two times per year, but in a way it would even out…probably harder on the first division of teams because Cincinnati and West Virginia bring the group down a little bit.

Wish we could just get real and swap UCF to the ACC in exchange for SMU. For everyone that would make so much more sense - while we’re at it, take Cal and Stanford in exchange for WVU and Cincinnati.
