It is the goal of any team to be undefeated; not sure what you meant by this. Nebraska only "seems" like a competitive bunch? They are #1 in the country. What does Nebraska have to do to convince you that they ARE a competitive bunch. According to John Cook, the Nebraska team had 3 goals this season. One, be undefeated in the Devaney Center. Whether they win or lose in Madison this week they accomplished that. Two, win the Big Ten. Whether they win or lose in Madison this week they accomplished that. Three, win the national championship. Whether they win or lose in Madison this week they can still accomplish that. Winning or losing in Madison this week won't affect any of their stated team goals. I'm sure the Nebraska team would feel upset if they lose because they seem like very competitive athletes, and competitive people never like to lose, but as I said, Wisconsin needs this win far more than Nebraska does. I use the phrase "seems like" because I don't know any of the Nebraska players personally. I've never met any of them so I can't say definitively that they are, in fact, competitive. However, given how they play and comments from John Cook I am sure they are very competitive people. If you have watched NE press conferences, Cook doesn't have any plans; he never looks ahead. The team's motto this year is one game at a time. You have to personally know someone to know that they are competitive?

I really wish Krause was back so we could have both teams full strength to battle it out. Will just have to wait for the National Championship I won't be shocked anyway this turns out. Wisconsin NEEDS this win more than Nebraska does, plus it is in the dungeon. I would bet that a set or two will only be determined by two points. Can Wisconsin hold Nebraska hitting to .130 again? I sure hope not.

I’m gonna go out on a limb and say I don’t need to know any of them to know they’re competitive. Zero chance you get to that level with out being ultra competitive.

The team's motto this year is one game at a time. You have to personally know someone to know that they are competitive? They set team goals at the beginning of each year. Nebraska's team goals for this year are as I stated in the previous post. John Cook discussed this year's team goals in one of his radio shows with John Baylor. Also, a couple weeks ago in a press conference a reporter asked Cook if his team felt any additional pressure to remain unbeaten and he said no. His said the reason was because going undefeated was not one of their team goals for this season. Competitiveness is a personality trait. I don't know any of the players personally so I can't swear that they are, in fact, competitive. However, given how they play, and based on comments by John Cook, I would guess that all or most of the players on this team are highly competitive.

For the second time this season, based on this thread already it's probably best if we put both fan bases in cryosleep until Saturday for the good of society in general. And ruin everyone's fun. Naw! BTW smrek means spruce, a coniferous tree, in Polish and Slavic languages. Was Anna's true destiny at Stanford? She still has one year to transfer. I'm sure Hambly would take her but she would have to be accepted into a Stanford graduate program.

That is your opinion and that is fine. I would feel confident in saying that Harper Murray and Bekka Allick are very competitive people. You can see it in their faces and their body language on the court. I would be less confident saying that Maisie Boesiger or Hayden Kubik are highly competitive, just because I haven't seen them play that much and they don't seem particularly emotive during the few times I see them standing on the sidelines. For all I know Maisie and Hayden may both be uber-competitive people, but I have no way of knowing that. Unlike you, I feel less confident making definitive statements about someone's personality if I have never met them. Maybe that is just me.

It's not a common name outside of WI. It's not a common name anywhere, as far as I know. But it is FIVE letters long! If you put your mind to it, I bet you can remember and recall five letters. It's not Batenhorst or Lauenstein, either. But Badger fans seem to manage those fairly well. Add to that the fact her name is spelled EXACTLY like it sounds and calling her "the tall girl" is just lazy and inconsiderate.
