It isn’t hard to understand, my point, which I stated clearly, earlier, was l don’t believe we’d need to know them personally to know they are competitive. Ah, I see. That is your opinion and that is fine. I would feel confident in saying that Harper Murray and Bekka Allick are very competitive people. You can see it in their faces and their body language on the court. I would be less confident saying that Maisie Boesiger or Hayden Kubik are highly competitive, just because I haven't seen them play that much and they don't seem particularly emotive during the few times I see them standing on the sidelines. For all I know Maisie and Hayden may both be uber-competitive people, but I have no way of knowing that. Unlike you, I feel less confident making definitive statements about someone's personality if I have never met them. Maybe that is just me. Some of the fiercest competitors I’ve known showed little or no “outward” signs of competitiveness.

Sheff is underpaid. Cook is making many more bucks. Is Sheff underpaid? Badger Extra did a survey of the top 15 coaches by contacting the schools. Here's the list, scroll down to get to it:

I have known people like that who were very competitive but didn't show it outwardly. For all I know, Maisie and Hayden may be people like that. Again, my point is that I don't know that for a fact because I have never met either of them.

It’s hard to make a case that you are underpaid when your program is running in the red. Nebraska Volleyball makes money for the athletic department.

Gibby asked if Sheff is underpaid. I provided the data. You can make your own determination of "underpaid", but Badger Volleyball is not running in the red and your comment is irrelevant in light of Gibby's question.

Enjoy that moment because the next four years you’re going to be owned It’s amusing to me that it would take exactly 4 years of season sweeps to see Cook have more head to head wins against Sheffield.

Am I right that for Texas, Nebraska, Wisconsin and similar programs that these coaches unsalaried income exceeds (greatly?) what they receive as salaries from their schools?

It's not a common name anywhere, as far as I know. But it is FIVE letters long! If you put your mind to it, I bet you can remember and recall five letters. It's not Batenhorst or Lauenstein, either. But Badger fans seem to manage those fairly well. Add to that the fact her name is spelled EXACTLY like it sounds and calling her "the tall girl" is just lazy and inconsiderate. But she is the tall girl, or actually the tallest D1 player, especially important on a team with Smrek @6'9" and Booth @ 6'7". However, who exactly is calling her "the tall girl"?

I remember Wisconsin revenue was one of the few to reach over a million but their expenses were more.

I have a number of 'fond memories' related to UW volleyball. But one of them comes from the night of the match in October of 2022, when I was riding my bike through the under-the-stands of the football stadium walkway that runs from the main parking structure towards the Field House and heard a couple groups of Husker fans acknowledging one another with "Well, tonight's the night! Yes, sir! Go Big Red!" etc. And I'm smiling and thinking to myself, "Yeah, maybe. Maybe not. We'll see." Next four years... Yeah, maybe. Maybe not. We'll see.

I’m really fired up for this match but only because it will be great volleyball. There isn’t anything on the line, and no outcome would change my belief in what either of these two teams will do in the tournament. Wisconsins securing one of the top four tournament seeds may be on the line.
