VT Players of the Week - Week 13 Fall 2023 -This is a committee of volunteer VT'ers that submit their picks for conference players of the week, freshman of the week, along with national awards. Committee members can submit picks for as few or as many conferences as they like, but I will only include them in the results if 3 or more submitters include that conference to avoid bias. -We need more committee members! PM me if interested. Or you can submit your picks to me without even "joining" the committee. This week there were 15 submissions. National Player of the Week: Eva Hudson, OH, Purdue 6.00 kills/set, .286 hit %, .25 aces/set, 2.25 digs/set, .63 blocks/set. Purdue defeated Wisconsin 3-2 and swept Maryland this week. National Freshman of the Week: Jalyn Stout, S/OPP, Coastal Carolina
4.36 kills/set, .467 hit %, 6.18 assists/set, 3.18 digs/set, .82 blocks/set. Also quick Q: How do you all categorize triple-doubles? Because technically it's effects offense, setting, and defense (in most cases) but is it enough to get a vote in one category more than the others?
IMO, it works for something like National Player of the Week because that isn't categorized by one metric but in the case of Schrader, were her offensive numbers high enough to out-perform DeBeer, Babcock, Stafford, Luper, or anyone else from the ACC? Or are we treating Offensive Player of the Week as Outsanding Performance of the Week?
(Yeah, that wasn't a quick question lol)

(Yeah, that wasn't a quick question lol) I classified Schrader’s performance as the Offensive category as opposed to Setter. My reasoning is that I usually reserve the Setter award for someone who runs a 5-1.
