yeah I honestly think Madi/Jenna are going 6 rotations this year and Reagan/Devin will fight for those opposite 3 rotations I like Devin but like let’s be for real🫣 atp I’d be somewhat surprised by anything other than Skinner/Wenaas Singletary/Ames Carlson/Rutherford (DS Akana) Halter *MAYBE* Emerick improves enough to play back row for Jenna but kinda doubt it 😭😭 stoppp im convinced that this is Devin’s year to start

Anyone been keeping track of the score? So I think Andrea just said the scores were: 25-22 Texas 24-26 Hungary 21-25 Hungary 25-13 Texas And they might be playing a 6th set. Averi is going to be tired after this trip! They did go to 6 sets but I didn't catch the scores. 3-3 in sets. www.facebook.com/photo?fbid=958559606063612&set=pcb.958559632730276

the last 2 seasons people wrote off phillips (she played both seasons), last season people wrote off wenaas (she played) & now people are writing off swindle...i guess we will see...people have been incorrect a lot on here edit: i trust the process...hook'em oh I love swindle. if there were “sides”, I’d probably be Team Swindle, but her unfortunately missing all these Europe matches plus the fact I think Carlson’s tempo works better for Jenna and Reagan makes me heavily lean Carlson. I’m pretty sure I argued even when Carlson was at Baylor that Swindle and her were not far apart talent wise and that Swindle does the non-setting things better than Averi does

Those back sets by Carlson are pure butter.
But if someone held a gun to my head, I'm Team Swindle. I can't help it. I'm okay either way. I think it's a tremendous luxury in going after a national championship to have two setters of this caliber and experience on the roster. Nothing can derail a national championship run more catastrophically than an injury to the starting setter, IMO.

I love when colleges play against senior clubs and national teams, even if they're not the strongest teams or the college loses. It gives the student athletes a real taste of what it's like to play against pros and helps them (and the fans) gauge how good they (and the NCAA) are relative to the international game. Is this the senior national team? Not U-whatever? The itinerary hornfanaustin posted said "Hungarian Senior National Team." They're in the European silver league (which is like tier 3 of European national teams), but still very impressive that this Texas team can keep up with the 42nd ranked national team in the world.

FYI — Swindle was practicing with a face mask on. I still haven’t seen Launstein in practice gear or any matches, so she’ll like RS this year. Perhaps Byrd or Kahahawai will be backup to Rutherford.

I can't help it - nothing against Averi Carlson at all, I like her quite a lot - but I'm also Team Swindle. A true Freshman who guts out the last 2 months of the season setting flat-footed with an injury because that's what her team needs - how do you not root for that? Plus her block and offense at the net

Idk, I'm not convinced that Rutherford has Opp locked this coming season. In my opinion, DK looked better today.

Devin definitely provides passing flexibility if she wins the starting spot. hypothetically at that point, Akana would DS whoever had worse backrow skills between Jenna and Devin. I’m not sure who that is. even in a 3 rotation role, Devin would be able to step in and pass in the one rotation where Madi has to pass backrow (if we keep Madi and Jenna in the same OH spots) to open up the bic out of serve receive

why not? You have two quality setters, two quality opposites, and Skinner to bail you out on the LS or the bic....
