Yeah, I feel like this will be one of those seasons where neither middle serves. I've not seen any of the middles serve, but I feel like we have too strong of servers not to sub in.

Singletary looks good serving to me. We’re not going to get another middle who defends the back row like O’Neal, but no one else ever gets that, either. I’d like to see if she’s able to step up.

I think that Carlson is the better singular player between her and swindle, but swindle just fits this team better with her offensive style, she can dump if they ever need a kill and wennas isn’t being confident. She can block better. I think Averi is better just because she has had to carry such a large load at Baylor & she's also an incredible blocker (what other setter in the country can block like she does)

Ames (and Bunton fwiw) have good serves too I *will* say I hope we run that Ewert/Devin dub sub more often though late. having Swindle and Carlson serve and Devin at the net for a half rotation has potential to grab a couple crucial late set points for us.

I think Averi is better just because she has had to carry such a large load at Baylor & she's also an incredible blocker (what other setter in the country can block like she does) Carlson is faster in getting to the ball because quite frankly she's shorter and has less body mass to move. And because of that the offense runs a lot faster. However, totally agree that Swindle is very important to the block. Think Jhenna G when it comes to Carlson's blocking.

Sounds like that would also be the roster size limit. Curious if the roster limit is going to take effect at the same time as the scholarship allowance?
Texas has 20 players on their roster right now. You lose 5 after this season and bring in 5 freshmen, which keeps it at 20. If the roster limit is 18, a couple roster players would have to go.

I’ve been anticipating some pin transfers out after this season, considering the log jam that’s been building up. This just increases the likelihood of that IMO.

How does scholarship limit increase relate to any mandatory limit on roster size? Has there ever been a limit to roster size on scholarship sports in the NCAA?
