you also have to factor chemistry and energy into the equation, Swindle clearly brings something onto the court that Carlson's quiet and subtle demeanor does not. so it's really not that easy of a debate... Energy means nothing if you’re not scoring points lmao? I used to be team Swindle but after this week, I clearly see that Carlson is miles ahead of Swindle. There’s no debate. What people have been seeing all season, I’m finally seeing it. How many times did Rutherford have to use her right hand to get one of Swindle’s sets or reach back behind her ball to chase? How many times did Madi have to tip because the set was too tight to the net?

Swindle's fire (similar to the fire that Asjia brought), her aggression with dumps, and her block is something that shouldn't be so easily forgotten IMO

She slows tempo down alot too. Where as to Carlson, she is playing hot potato with that mf and the serve is way better.

Ella also needs to stop getting tooled so much for that block to be a positive
this goes for all our pin blockers tbh, the blocking issues so far are not just on our young middles

so yall would rather have an inconsistent setter who will struggle with efficiency slowing down our offensive production while we are already struggling in blocking versus a setter who is more consistent, has better location and plays great defense while she’s in the back row? I just think if we are going to play a shorter setter, it would be really beneficial to line her up with a good blocking middle for two rotations . My thoughts on the setting competition is pretty nuanced and I’ve shared it often. I’m just glad we have two great options.

I decided to re-watch the Hawaii game on demand on ESPN+ to see what the complaints about the camera were and oh my goodness, that was painful to watch. For those who didn't watch in person or the replay, essentially the producer decided to only focus on about 50% of the court. Serve went long? You didn't see it. Apparently the producer has dictated that the camera should follow the ball and so there's a lot of "jerking" around.
Who do I write to complain about this? And they can't pull that lame excuse about "it's the size of Gregory that forces us to focus that closely". C'mon. LHN had no problem broadcasting it like the other ESPN+ channels. It's gotta be the producer/director. I guess they didn't keep the old LHN crew around when it folded.

the block had a huge problem slowing down the hawaii outside hitter.
