I decided to re-watch the Hawaii game on demand on ESPN+ to see what the complaints about the camera were and oh my goodness, that was painful to watch. For those who didn't watch in person or the replay, essentially the producer decided to only focus on about 50% of the court. Serve went long? You didn't see it. Apparently the producer has dictated that the camera should follow the ball and so there's a lot of "jerking" around.
Who do I write to complain about this? And they can't pull that lame excuse about "it's the size of Gregory that forces us to focus that closely". C'mon. LHN had no problem broadcasting it like the other ESPN+ channels. It's gotta be the producer/director. I guess they didn't keep the old LHN crew around when it folded.
they HAD to been talked to during the match because i think they actually zoomed out for the last half of the second and the third, buttttt yeah that was a TERRIBLE watch. definitely turns fans away bc i finally got my mom to watch with me and i was like WTF... Does anyone know if they had an actual cameraman at the game or was the camera being remotely controlled from the studio? It actually concerns me more if it was an actual cameraman because that means he was woefully incompetent.

Human beings were manning all the cameras in the same spots before where LHN had them stationed. That's worrisome. It most likely means they aren't using the crew that did the LHN matches. I was only able to watch about half of the first set before I went to a high school football game. When you watched the telecast, did the announcing improve any? The single male announcer was pretty bad the little bit that I watched.

Last year's LHN announcers (Lowell Galindo & Fozzy Whitaker) called the game so I suspect they used a lot of the LHN crew from last year. I wonder if that made a number of crew type people unavailable? The Miami match was also on SECN+. I still had DirectTV at that time so I wasn't able to watch it due to their little spat with ESPN. Was that production just as bad as Friday?

That's probably part of it. There definitely should've been an analyst with him. Considering there's a whole pro team in Austin now, there's no shortage of volleyball expertise in the city...
