My unwanted opinion? We either do the 6-2 or we do a 5-1 with Jenna/Madi Ames/ Mari Ella/ Devin (could swap Rutherford) I personally feel like Devin brings more spark but Rutherford has been more efficient. So honestly either wouldn’t hurt..

So honestly either wouldn’t hurt.. Forgot to talk about to main thing💀 I choose Swindle over Carlson because she most definitely brings more spark than Carlson and is more aggressive than Carlson at the bet. But if Carlson is a must then that means Dev is a must as well. You need someone there who can get the team fired up when others aren’t.

Don't I wish. This is a rebuilding year, so I think some of the expectations were unrealistic. But I also want them to smash the competition, human nature, I guess. Rebuilding year eh? IMO and we're making the same mistake playing the 3 seniors (OH & OPP) without giving the younger OH and OPP playing time. I guess that's why JE needs the transfers.

perhaps the most important match of the season please let them right the ship Given them 2 times to respond, third time's the charm. I'm not asking for a ship at this point. I just want them to redeem themselves because we know those were games they lost.

Can you see if they can bring back Asjia, Bella, Carissa and Molly, too? Don't I wish. This is a rebuilding year, so I think some of the expectations were unrealistic. But I also want them to smash the competition, human nature, I guess. A rebuilding year ? What would you consider next year then lol?? This season they returned starting outsides, setter, libero, ds, and an upgrade at setting and oppo through the portal. Shouldn’t be much of a rebuilding year imo

Let’s think of the last couple national championships, they have had a blocking and more versatile setters, Sydnee hilly, SKT, Madison Lilly. None of them had problems at the net like Averi, Ella thrives at the net and an extremely underrated part of how we won the national championship last year. She has to play or I don’t see us advancing!

the only thing i want to say here is that no matter who plays - Averi or Ella - people will still complain. have you seen the social media comments throughout the season??? people complain no matter WHO is in.
in fact, people will say one thing and then say the opposite a week later. what do i think? i think i saw a glimpse of greatness with the Carlson 5-1 vs. Oklahoma. yes, Averi got hit over many times by Alexis Shelton. we practically had TWO defenders (Halter/Akana) defending Shelton's line shot over Averi for the ONE rotation that Shelton was hitting against Carlson.
there is a trade-off for everything and if we are making the trade for a setter with better location and consistency, then we HAVE to make those digs on the line. and the middles HAVE to touch the ball more.
i think the 5-1 with Carlson would be a lot easier to say is better if we had experienced AND talented junior/senior middles, but we don't.
this decision must be made by the team. lowkey the team needs to take a vote Tokyo Olympics Jordan Larson style and advocate for who they would have the most chemistry with on the court. and by chemistry, i don't necessarily mean the technical aspect of setting. WHO on the team WILL come together and create something passionate and motivational. WHO will make these rallies worth fighting for??
SOMEONE'S GOTTA STEP THEIR COOKIES UP!!!

All I’m saying is Ella is a proven winner, that’s what’s messed up about the portal, Averi transferred because she couldn’t WIN. But I guess we can keep trying and when OH go crazy then idk

god this is gonna sound so hater but ive just seen so many posts on here and instagram and tiktok about it now and i need to rant about something other than the events last night:
Texas went on one of the craziest serving tears in NCAA history, combined with the fact Skinner way head and shoulders the best player in the country, combined with the fact we had a sixth year USNT middle that was blocking everything in sight, but yes, let’s just keep reiterating that Swindle is a proven winner. that’s clearly the case even though she has the worst bad set rate of any T25 setter and looked as if she was actively getting worse. literally who is going to be able to score points if Swindle is setting? Madi has struggled IMMENSELY off of her, Rutherford went cold before averi was setting her, Jenna’s only really looked good off of Carlson sets, the middles error at crazy rates off of her… it’s a 6-2 or a Carlson 5-1. swindle has played herself out of a 5-1 this season, sorry not sorry.
