after the tip fest in sets 1 and 2, we finally started getting clean quality swings in sets 3 and 4 and won those comfortably
for game one, I liked what I saw. let's go team.

We have a lot of room for improvement but we’re not starting from the basement like last year so I’m happy. An ugly win is still a win 🤘🏾

First match. This team is going to improve so much throughout the year. Anything can happen, but it's tough to see who is supposed to compete with Nebraska and Texas on paper. Maybe I get surprised somewhere, but this feels like USC v Texas in football in 2005. Not the undefeated aspect, but simply the feeling of inevitability that these two teams are supposed to meet for the final match of the season.

Pitt could provide a challenge to one They’ll provide a challenge to someone. I just think there’s a talent discrepancy that we saw play out in the semifinals last year. Maybe I’m wrong. That’s just how I see it. It’s not fair that Texas and Nebraska constantly have their first pick of talent, and Pitt is doing just fine in the recruiting department. But to me there’s a difference in the players Nebraska and Texas are fielding across the board. Maybe it plays out that way, maybe it doesn’t. But that’s what I saw watching Pitt versus Oregon. Again, one match into the season. We’ll see.

Texas might've swept had it not been for a phantom lift call late in set 2. I think the R1 forgot about no doubles on two, blew her whistle, then remembered and quickly pivoted to a lift call to ensure no UT challenge and win.

I was wrong, good win for Texas. They played alright but I think that Swindle should start and play the entire time. There's not that much of a deference in their setting imo. Swindle doesn't always look pretty but she's a winner and does other things well.

cats and dogs living together Off-topic but the widdle household has recently got a widdle cat. It’s more of a dog than the dog is. We recently discovered it likes to play fetch that's awesome. what kind of kitty?
