ASSISTS (Through 2 games) Carlson 67 Swindle 22 Halter 8 Ames 5 Akana 3 I think this illustrates two things 1. Ayden being 4th in assists is funny to me 2. With the amount of secondary setting opportunities we had, Halter and Akana should have more assists. Ames should be secondary setter when she’s on the court and I’m so serious lol, she can throw in some dumps too🤣 |

With the amount of secondary setting opportunities we had, Halter and Akana should have more assists. I think that it was a mistake to bring in Carlson. He should have brought in a setter to be the backup and let Swindle be the starter. If it's not broke don't fix it. |

He should have brought in a setter to be the backup and let Swindle be the starter. If it's not broke don't fix it. I don’t think it was a mistake but now that he has both, he needs to utilize both. I’m wondering if he’ll give a 6-2 or 5-2 a try. We clearly need Swindle’s height at the net and/or utilize Kahahawai more, as well. Carlson playing front row is a glaring mismatch when playing top teams but I think she runs a much smoother offense than Swindle. |

Honestly I thought Ames’s service pressure/consistency was better than Binney’s this weekend. Plus her defense and setting weren’t bad.

As a former middle who loved to backset, I am here for setter Ames! And with no doubles anymore, a paradise for middles! An angel got its wings this weekend every time a middle stepped in front of their setter and put up the ugliest ball to the outside. **Ames not included in the above. Her sets were immaculate. |

And some also used their middle: there was a time in PSU past where Rose used his middle to set plus on tight balls she could attack second ball!! Jump ahead to this moment: lib’s setting mostly with only forearms because obviously they can not tell when they are in fron of 3’ meter line!!! Ha !!! This tactic has lengthend rally’s because Hit/kill %’s are so low after lib. Sets second ball. Some team will win with a new strategy and soon everyone will copy because “thats the way THEY did it”. Japan running the quick attack soon all quick attack. USC wins NCAA Erbe/ green setting a 5-1 , we all run 5-1. But no one euns as good a 6-2 as Cuba women 80’s-90’s |
