Not baseless at all. She did some things at Kentucky that pretty much decided her fate in Lexington. You don't have to believe me but when Deleye took over as the #1 offensive weapon for UK last season Rutherford did not take it well and openly complained the remainder of the season. I was actually shocked Texas took her because they didn't need her. Rutherford complained about not being the number one option at UK then left to Texas where she KNEW she wouldn’t be the number one option? She’s never been the number one option her entire volleyball career. High School and College. Always been a great teammate. Doesn’t add up. Stop making up stuff on the internet. Not making anything up. She was the six rotation player for UK last season and she lost that role. She didn't handle it well and those are just facts. Believe whatever you want but I think a great argument could be made she is probably part of the problem at Texas this season.

I’m sure she’s the reason Madi, Swindle, and Akana are in slumps and why our passing is struggling

So did the open complaints stem from Delaye taking over as the number 1 offensive weapon (like you previously said) or was it because Rutherford was no longer playing 6 ro RS? Sounds like you’re making things up as you go. I don’t believe you.

But, in the 5-set match against Oklahoma, Swindle didn't see the court for a single point. I'm of the opinion that the decision has been made that Averi Carlson is our starting setter for the rest of the season, and Swindle will come into a match only if Averi struggles or maybe sub in for her blocking.

I hope not. This team is playing like Baylor last year, and there's only one reason for that. I can't say at this point that Ella can bring the team back, but I think it's worth a try to leave out the transfers and see if they can bring back the unknown factor that propelled them last year. Otherwise it is what it is, and maybe they should focus on next year.

I still wish we'd go back to the 6-2, but if we're going to stay with the 5-1, I'd like to sometimes see Devin come in for Jenna when we need some offense.

Friendly reminder that Texas went 21-2 in sets to start SEC play. That included sweeps at Kentucky and Florida and a 4-set win in front of thousands of Aggies. They looked good for a long stretch of the season, and there's no reason to think they can't find that rhythm again.
Yes, the recent games are better scrubbed from your memory, but 3 games don't define an entire season—unless they're the last 3 games of the NCAA tournament where you dismantle consecutive 1 seeds to win it all 🥰

This is a rebuilding year, so I think some of the expectations were unrealistic. But I also want them to smash the competition, human nature, I guess.
