A WHOPPING 4 Kills for OH2 I just don’t believe that there isn’t someone on the bench who can produce more offense She's not getting good sets. Playing great back row. Slide went away. are sets getting lower?

We all want her to be more terminal, but don't cut her kills in half for no reason. Maybe review the stats next time before stating incorrect numbers. Volleyball isn't all about offense. Wenaas also had 17 digs to lead both teams in that category.

Points vs kills. And my first reply praised her back row play. The poster acknowledged she was not getting good sets.

Did anyone else notice McKenzie Collins, 2025 MB, decommited from A&M Volleyball and Track last week and committed to Texas for Track?

I had no idea during which set the comment was posted as this isn't the match thread; time stamp only says "about an hour ago".

No 2nd set slump, and after dropping the 3rd set, the team put their foot on the gas in the 4th! I don't care who you're playing, those mental hurdles can be tough to overcome. Looking forward to watching the team continue to build their confidence and momentum.

Winning but still playing bad, this setter hitter connections are PAINFUL I have barely seen a good connection yet. Still can’t pass averi connected pretty well w madi & the slide i’d say? lol, i don’t think that’s a major thing to dwell on after this match. this shows promise if anything

god this is gonna sound so hater but ive just seen so many posts on here and instagram and tiktok about it now and i need to rant about something other than the events last night: Texas went on one of the craziest serving tears in NCAA history, combined with the fact Skinner way head and shoulders the best player in the country, combined with the fact we had a sixth year USNT middle that was blocking everything in sight, but yes, let’s just keep reiterating that Swindle is a proven winner. that’s clearly the case even though she has the worst bad set rate of any T25 setter and looked as if she was actively getting worse. literally who is going to be able to score points if Swindle is setting? Madi has struggled IMMENSELY off of her, Rutherford went cold before averi was setting her, Jenna’s only really looked good off of Carlson sets, the middles error at crazy rates off of her… it’s a 6-2 or a Carlson 5-1. swindle has played herself out of a 5-1 this season, sorry not sorry. There's nothing hateful about your comments. As far as the 2024 season, the setting stats as well as the eye test clearly indicate that Carlson is performing better than Swindle who is struggling. I posted the below in our OU match thread after the match as so many non-Texas posters were making comments that Swindle is national champion setter: Folks have selective memories. It's not like Swindle had an elite regular season in 2023; granted she did have a foot/lower leg injury towards season's end. She was not All-Big 12, nor Big 12 Freshman of the Year or Big 12 Setter of the Year. She was awarded AVCA Honorable Mention All-Region. She was tremendous in the post-season, but every Texas starter raised their level of play down the stretch to do their part.
It's great that she can be called a "national championship setter". That doesn't guarantee she would carry that level of play into 2024.
Based on the struggles she's had most of the 2024 season, I think the coaching staff made the right call bringing in a setter in Averi Carlson who had shown to be more consistent for 2 seasons at Baylor. Her accolades were 2023 AVCA All-Southwest Region First Team and All-Big 12 Second Team as a sophomore; 2022 Big 12 Freshman of the Year and AVCA Southwest Region Freshman of the Year…2022 All-Big 12 First Team
I was thrilled when we landed Averi Carlson via the transfer portal. I wasn't sure how much time it would take Swindle's injury to heal. And, I wasn't convinced that the Swindle who played in the post-season would be the Swindle we'd see in Fall 2024. I think our coaches had the same concerns and that is why they had to add Carlson to the roster.
