Did anyone else notice McKenzie Collins, 2025 MB, decommited from A&M Volleyball and Track last week and committed to Texas for Track? AND is followed by Jerritt, David and Texas Volleyball on IG đź‘€ They are loaded at middle

All I’m saying is Ella is a proven winner, that’s what’s messed up about the portal, Averi transferred because she couldn’t WIN. But I guess we can keep trying and when OH go crazy then idk WUT Averi Carlson transferred from Baylor to Texas Longhorns because she was looking for new opportunities and challenges, not necessarily because she "couldn't win." She's a highly accomplished player, having been named Big 12 Freshman of the Year and earning multiple All-Big 12 honors during her time at Baylor. Transfers in college sports are often about finding the right fit and pursuing new goals. It's a big decision for any athlete, and it's usually driven by a combination of personal and professional factors.

AND is followed by Jerritt, David and Texas Volleyball on IG đź‘€ They are loaded at middle .....but are the current middles helping Texas? No. I'd expect transfers in at that position next season. Both Texas middles way too slow at seeing, reading and being in the right place on defense. OHs pop off playing Texas for a reason. All 3 are good at offense, but all 3 on defense...... ? Ouch.

To be honest, I look at the stats and go, "Oh, wow. She does better than we all criticize her for."

And, yet, your Nebraska head coach coveted Ayden Ames, and most Nebraska fans were very disappointed to see her decommit from the Huskers one year ago and end up signing with Texas. Are you saying Coach Cook incorrectly evaluated her skills? Do you recognize the below gem of a post you made about Ames while she was still committed to Nebraska, as well as your comments questioning Becka Allick? We are gonna need ayden ames and Pierce next year. I'm not.sold on allick and Mendelson on offense either. They play so short on offense.

Great game for Texas. It's fun to watch the team work through their issues and figure it out.
- Madi playing much freer in this 5-1 with simplified line-up (i.e., fewer subs). Her 49 attempts (39% of team) was 10 more than the combined middles' attempts, but who can blame Averi for going to Madi when Madi is hitting 0.408. I love how they moved the location of her backrow attack a couple of times. The connection is definitely there. - Improved middle production speaks to the steadier passing and setter-hitter connection. Ames and Singletary hitting .471 and .500, respectively, with 39 total attempts. - Wenaas hitting .208 is not great, but she definitely stays on the floor for her ball control. She had 17 digs, which is 2 more than Emma. I do think the .208 will improve. Two of Wenaa's 3 hitting errors were on tempo sets that Jenna over-ran. - Devin starting in the 4th was an interesting surprise, because Rutherford had 9 kills hitting .368 through three sets. - Much steadier game for Akana and Halter. - Averi... what can I say. She ran an efficient offense, dishing out hittable balls and giving her hitters confidence. I love how she want back Devin and Madi after they made errors.

the ingredients to repeat last years crazy run just aren’t here this season. we haven’t seen the signs of them. the times we did finally see signs of a team that could go far were in the 6-2. I just don’t know why we gave up on the 6-2 before trying Binney for Swindle in it. If I'm being perfectly blunt, I think benching Swindle in favor of walk-on Binney would have been an emotional dagger for Ella; and, we'd have a somewhat repeat of the Jhenna Gabriel and Ashley Shook saga (assuming Binney would have performed better than Ella in the 6-2)

My projected lineup for tonight is: Setter - Carlson Opposite - Rutherford OH - Skinner (all 6 rotations) OH - Wenaas (all 6 rotations) MB - Singletary MB - Ames Not sure if our serving subs will continue as they have, or if Akana will simply come in for Rutherford to serve and play all 3 back row rotations. I'd actually like to see Devin come to serve for Rutherford and be available for a D-ball attack. Someone has to serve for the MB; I guess it could be Emerick. I did pretty good with my projections for last night. I still don't understand playing Emerick instead of Wenaas for 2.5 rotations on Sunday against OU. Wenaas was coming off a 17-dig performance against Mizzou (Skinner had 12 and Halter had 10), and she gets yanked from the back row 2 days later? I can understand giving Emerick a try, but the timing seemed odd; not sure if it was Wenaas' serve receive (not sure anyone posted the passing stats against Mizzou). Looking at the stats against OU, Wenaas had 5 digs and Emerick had 4 digs in 5 sets. Hindsight is 20/20, but if we had started Singletary in set one on Sunday and played Wenaas instead of experimenting with Emerick (for the first time this season), we most likely sweep OU. Oh, well. That loss might result in Texas not winning the SEC title; but, perhaps we'll look back at that loss as a huge turning point going forward.

I didn't think of that. Or maybe they wanted a better block?

Who is responsible for training our setters? Why do our setter recruits (not transfers) struggle to thrive here, at least in recent history? I had hoped Ella would prove this wrong and I'm so sad for her because I believe she has great potential.

She's not getting good sets. Playing great back row. Slide went away. are sets getting lower? Ya Averi seems to set her low sometimes It could be by design because it happened all night.
