I mentioned Atherton because I figured most posters here wouldn't remember Allison McNeal or Sheridan Zarda. I still wonder if Atherton would have beaten Hames for the starting position in 2018. Atherton was never going to get on the court. |

Why are people so obsessed with putting certain teams down? I doubt VT is self-reflective enough to properly answer that question. |

Couldn't even tell you what position she played. Ally McNeal is pretty well known. She played four years here. I remember Ally because she unfortunately had a health condition (thyroid?), not an injury, that kept her out for multiple seasons. I only remember her playing in a handful of matches, never being a regular starter. She's firmly in the "Hey, remember _____?" list to me. |

LIU… are you ready to make HERSTORY?? What, have 0 set? It’s gonna be like a VW beetle trying to race in the Indy 500. I don’t know if you have watched them play but ESPN+ had their conference tournament matches on (Sacred Heart in the semis). It’s Y coed night volleyball, every other ball is a oos tip. First year head coach who came over from another small college in Brooklyn and brought several players with him. Including their L who they think is great. They have a tallish MB #7 … and they hit a lot of balls 6-8 feet off of the net. i don’t know how they won their conference tournament but I hope they have a good experience in Lincoln. Keep posting, you add a little color to this black-and-white television set. |

Watching warm-ups my husband commented on what a quick swing she had. I think she was redshirting, so we didn't get to see her play in the match. I do wish we could have seen a healthy Ally McNeal. I'm sorry she didn't get to fully showcase her skills. |

Obviously they aren’t gonna win but you have made like 50 posts in here about how god awful they are or whatever. Not every school can recruit like the top teams… I challenge you to go to ESPN+ watch ten minutes of either their conference semi or final, and not conclude LIU has no business being in this tournament. It’s not about recruiting, its about fielding 64 legitimate teams for the tournament. LIU is not a legitimate team. No seed should have to play a team like this. They sure as heck shouldn’t have sent them 1300 miles for a 70 minute beat down. |

Classic photos1, always negative, and this time relentlessly punching down. LIU won their conference tournament, a bit of an upset, and got the automatic berth. Good for them and the pride they take in that accomplishment! Are they one of the weakest teams in the tournament? Yes, at least on paper, so they find themselves playing the #1 seed, that's the way the tournament bracketing works. IMO both IL and IN are stronger than at least a 1/3 of the teams that made it in, but even if they made it in, would be underdogs to make it past the first 2 games because of how they would be seeded. Finally, it is what it is. NE got the #1 seed and as a result has an advantageous tournament schedule. I am worried about NE's performance as they progress thru the tournament, especially after a long season in which IMO they over achieved. They are starting 4 freshman. I am not worried about how LIU was chosen, or how they seem to match up. NE has no control over that. NE just needs to play NE VB. |
