Western Kentucky is making their 16th NCAA tournament appearance. The Hilltoppers are 32-47 (.405) in sets played since their first appearance in 2002. They reached the
Sweet Sixteen 1 time -- 2020-21.
Coastal Carolina is making their 8th NCAA tournament appearance. The Chanticleers are 5-23 (.179) in sets played since their first appearance in 1996. They advanced to the second round in 2016.

One of these teams worst losses is the #25 RPI team in the country.
The other team has losses to #230 and #284.
