SMU is making their 3rd NCAA tournament appearance. The Mustangs are 4-6 (.400) in sets played since their first appearance in 2014. They reached the second round in 2016.
Texas State is making their 13th NCAA tournament appearance. The Bobcats are 9-38 (.191) in sets played since their first appearance in 2014. They advanced to the second round in 2018 and 2020-21.
