Go MAC! I know a lot of people look at this as an upset, but Western was a slight Pablo favorite going in. And having watched this team off and on over the season, I knew they would be ready. They broomed Michigan off the floor in Ann Arbor early on which wasn't hard to do back then but I was impressed by how efficient and clean they played. There is a lot to be said for having senior leadership, and this team played calm and composed like they have been here before. Auburn was just shell shocked.
I don't think they have a serious chance against Louisville, but I know they won't just fold either. So happy for Munson, Case, Simkins and crew. What a season.

Where did Crouch mention beating Louisville, did Auburn have media availability this week? auburntigers.com/news/2023/11/27/this-week-in-auburn-volleyball.aspx"I like that we are playing earlier Thursday, that 3:00 slot will give us a little rest because we will play the next day after the win". LOL ETA: In fairness, he does give credit to WMU later on and doesn't talk about beating Louisville in this interview.

I know you can be overwhelmed. And you can be underwhelmed. But can you be just… whelmed? I was going to answer 'yes' but I think you got me with this meme before

Glad 8 teams from that powerhouse SEC made the cut. Lol I sold my SEC stock before the tournament started when I saw how bad their opponent hitting percentages are: Missouri - .230 (262nd in the country) Kentucky - .222 (244th) Georgia - .215 (213th) Florida - .215 (210th) Texas A&M - .196 (117th) Tennessee - .193 (103rd) Auburn - .193 (98th) Arkansas - .183 (74th) Maybe the other SEC teams will do well, but this result from Auburn does not surprise me.

As usual, Auburn proves they are overrated after another season of just a couple good wins (and those wins are pretty circumstantial) and a ton of mediocre wins. Crouch also seems to know how to play the RPI game, but it doesn't mean his team is nearly as good as he and others want to believe. This is showing the SEC likely has too many bids AGAIN this year. ^it really isn't.
Folks need to understand that tournament results, in a single-elimination tournament, have no impact on whether the right teams made the tournament.

Auburn looked dreadful at parts of the season. But even with that - one can't ignore that Auburn beat SMU, Florida and Florida State, along with other good wins: Georgia(x2), Texas A&M, South Alabama. They 100% earned their way into the tournament and it wasn't close.

As someone who will be perpetually against Crouch, I am pleased at this result.

Totally impressed with Western Michigan.
It was really weird.
They're just really solid all the way around. Nothing flashy, no star players. Except for their setter.
I was a little surprised by all the aces. The serves weren't exceptionally hard but they all just seemed to be placed in the correct spots. Kudos to them.

This has been them all season, no one payed attention because why would you, but they have a solid crew who play disciplined volleyball

Yes. We should all just accept and no one should debate anything. Or maybe, just maybe, we aren’t basing it on a strictly W/L result but a score (they got whomped), they looked rough (yes I watched), and we have seen other teams who we felt looked better. My eyeball test says SOMEONE (imho a b1G team, Loyola Chicago, KSU, someone) deserved a shot over what I saw from the 7th? 8th? best team from the SEC.
