The Beach swept them tonight in the Pyramid. Cal Baptist full of foreigners and very large ones at that, with a front line that included, at times, 3 guys over 6'9". They were big! Long Beach looked very good tonight. Served well, and their defense was superb. Their setter is just plain awesome!! 2nd String setter, Beau Peters is awesome as well. This team could be real good by season's end! Nothin hits the floor with these guys! They will surprise a few folks before this season is over!

Their setter is just plain awesome!! 2nd String setter, Beau Peters is awesome as well. AB...do you know if they have actually set 1st and 2nd strings? I can't believe they would'nt be still considering both for the setter position. Beau is just too talented to sit. |

I think Beau and Tyler are both still fighting for the setter's job. They are both true freshman. No position is set in stone.

BeachMom is right. There really isn't a permanent starting line-up for any of Alan's teams. The guys who usually have the best week's practice play on the weekend, or in the upcoming games. Right now he is playing 9 to 10 guys consistently, and I am sure based on his past practice, he will continue to do this. It is very difficult to find separation between Tyler and Beau. They are both just plain awesome and Long Beach will need both of them down the road!

I too was very impressed with our setting last night... Tyler's a bad a**! HEHE... Cal Baptist... talk about a team with foreign guys... BIG BIG FOREIGN GUYS that is... I also was very impressed with our defense... just as predicted (and I suppose is Alan's style), we're VERY scrappy, and Phil is doing great back there! Very intense as usual! Bright future for Alan's program! I'm glad to see it!  GO BEACH!!! |
