I just think it's inappropriate. If Kentucky players want to pray somewhere in their own capacity post-match, I'm sure they are capable of doing so.

Y'all know teams can say no? No one is forcing them to join the prayer circle. It is an invitation- accept or decline. You read my post, right? You don't see why players would be uncomfortable either telling their captain they aren't going to participate, because the captain decision right? Or, being on camera as a non-participating player seems like it'd open you up to some public shunning. I could see team dynamics being different, but anyone whose been part of a team, like I said, will do things as a team they otherwise wouldn't as an individual. I just don't see how any of your comment addresses that part of the argument. What stops a coach from instructing their captain to say no? I understand that there are many different team cultures that can lead to players being uncomfortable to address their captain. There are also teams with dynamics that may lead to players knowing they could do so with no problem. Some teams could be having open conversations about these things on a consistent basis, and players could feel comfortable enough to address their hesitations with the whole team knowing they'd have her back. And of course, there are team cultures where the exact opposite could be true. It's not solely the captain's decision, that's just who it's presented to. The decision is up to the team, including the coaches.

It’s just a kind gesture that Kentucky can decide for themselves if they want to. Not every player of the team has to accept. It’s literally just an offer.

Edmond is a fine commentator but this girl with her is a mess Aww I like Maggie! I was at the game so i didn't hear her, but I think she'll be good with some more experience. This was only like her third time doing play-by-play iirc. I think she gets a little too excited and talks a little too much. Once she learns to relax on the mic a bit she'll be much better. Hope she's able to do more games next year

yall are so scared of people liking God ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ To be fair - there are religious people who may be against this, or against public prayer in general, or these same religious people could be against virtue signaling and proselytizing (whether you believe this is that or not). But I'm sure there are many afraid of more becoming religious. For me, I'm certainly not afraid of it, and I think religious beliefs/practices are beneficial for many people. I also have my own principles/beliefs as a practitioner when it comes to what public vs. private higher education looks like that are in contrast with Baylor's 'invitation'. Also if it's an invitation, it's a little weird to be chasing someone down. I would expect it more to be like, if they join us, they join us. But I didn't watch what @donut was describing about Kentucky running into the tunnel post-match. I'll go back and check.

She came off as confused and misinformed quite a few times throughout yesterday's and today's broadcast. I could see her getting better with more experience though, cause it did seem like she was just trying to fill the space with commentary/facts.

Can you think of anything that would stop a coach from instructing their captain to say no? I think maybe some examples of why you believe a coach should make that decision would be beneficial to this conversation. Your opinion on whether it should be presented to the coach or captain is also one I'd like to hear given how you've phrased this post.

I just think it's inappropriate. If Kentucky players want to pray somewhere in their own capacity post-match, I'm sure they are capable of doing so. If Kentucky or any other program has a problem with it I'm sure they could politely decline before the final point is even scored. From my view, I think it's classy that the Bears invite their opponents to partake in prayer and give glory to the Almighty.

Why are y’all on here every season talking about the prayer circle after Baylor games? Let it go!

Kentucky looks really good. They will put up a good fight vs Nebraska. Most improved team this season for sure.

I’m honestly just surprised to see that Baylor prays after matches because I never thought of them as that religious on an institution compared to other schools. When I was in college we played against liberty and they never asked us to pray. That’s the type of school I would expect that from, not Baylor. But I don’t see a problem with it.

We have a lot of "old guard" announcers at UK who are getting up there in years (Dick Gabriel, Dave Baker, etc) and, I mean this with love and respect, they should probably retire soon. I'm just glad to hear somebody who doesn't feel like they're losing a step each time.
