Didn't you start this entire sht show 7 pages ago? Don't complain about prayer from a school that is religious affiliated. Good God people. This is why I cannot stand Volleytalk and the hypocrisy. By god everyone wants their life choices to be respected unless you are a Christian, then its not acceptable. Do you people realize how messed up that is? Last time I checked one of our fundamental freedoms was religion. Again....respect their choices and they will respect yours. |

Being gay is not wrong. Being gay is not a "lifestyle." To continue to argue otherwise, is bigotry. We've all heard the same regurgitated crap -- "love the sinner, hate the sin" is my personal fave -- that Christians tell themselves to feel better about their underlying discriminatory and unloving views (see: your post above). It's noted that you've resorted to "well others are much worse!", likely because you know you can't explain how your views towards queer people are loving, so you're blame-shifting/relying on a distraction. This is why young people are leaving the church. Once they learn to think for themselves, they realize what Christians claim is love actually doesn't look like love. And no matter what your pastor tells you, viewing being queer as a sin, isn't loving queer people. I'd argue that there is more freedom in the church than outside of its walls. The church is by no means perfect because imperfect human beings like yourself and I, take part in churches. Young people, especially students, are being inundated with progressive and non-sensical ideas that abandon reality. They really are not being taught to think for themselves and being told that everything you feel or think is true no matter the form or substance. That is bondage dressed up as forward thinking and freedom. No thank you! Loving people and hating the sin is a personal favorite as well. It means that I try my best to remember that every person I come across is created in the image of God and that sin is a distortion of what things were meant to be. I don't think I am better than anyone and definitely not better than those who are gay. I could go pages listing out my sin and offenses against God. But thank You Lord that You sent Jesus here to wash me over and over again. Thank You that Your mercies renew every single morning not only for me, but for everyone. Tell me, what will you do when the real bigots come here? How will you spot an actual bigot when you cannot distinguish them from a Christian? |

I knew this would start to venture into nonsense land (like wtf is that first paragraph lol) so feel free to take this to Off the Net. You'll find your pal Holiday there! He practically lives there, posting 24/7 (despite not being able to stand Volleytalk allegedly).
