Am I wrong? I’m a Marquette alum (probably one of like 2 on this board) and played on their men’s club team. I’m a little upset that for as much success as they have had since 2011, they just cannot take the next step and make some noise in the second weekend. Kush as a libero pick up was a good get. Finding a 1 year libero that wants to come play in the Big East isn't as easy as you seem to think it would be. Minus getting aced on the last point, she played her heart out tonight. Marquette is going to struggle getting high level attackers that aren't local kids until the Big East is better at volleyball & actually supports it. I'd channel your energy at the BE. |

Not that its the exact same situation... but KBB has done both of those things in the BEast im not going to berate him, but I dont think its outlandish to think the roster was mismanaged |

I think the frustration comes from they have had those kinds of pins though. Let’s ignore a local product like Barber. They’ve had Bailey, Louis, Lines, Haak. Just once I’d love to see it all come together. I know they’re not a perennial Elite 8team, but sweeping Creighton in a season just once, or playing by for a spot in the Final 4 one time would be lovely |

What about Anderson? 60 assists, 16 digs, 5 kills. 3 blocks. Good days work. And honestly, I feel like she’s just scratched the surface of what she is capable of. Her ceiling is so high. |

They are learning what it takes to compete at that next level and struggled. I’m hoping the squad that returns most of what they have now will continue to push towards the success you’re hoping for. That being said, the criticism you level at some of the players is way too harsh and is uncalled for. If you don’t like it that much… don’t watch. |

Hoping that we can get a healthy Chloe by next weekend. She has not played her best ball the last two weeks and was obviously not feeling the best tonight. Wow, and I thought Chicoine played her ass off. I only watched on TV, so you are probably more accurate. She was awfully good tonight against that 6’3 and 6’3 block. I thought that I saw her cough into her arm a few times. I couldn’t tell if she was wiping sweat or coughing into her wrist. Everyone is probably a little sick of this time of year. Watching this match live was totally nerve wracking. I was the lone fan that voted Purdue would win in 5 sets. I knew this Marquette team wanted this so bad. Purdue meets them in the beginning rounds a lot and they have never beat Purdue. When the Libero was aced on the last point…she was instantly inconsolable…on Purdues side there was joy and on Marquettes side there was complete devastation. I have to say that that was the first time that I didn’t look at Purdues side right away after a win, I couldn’t stop looking at Marquettes side of the net. The officiating crew was very sus all night. The down judge also judged the match that Purdue had against Fairfield. Was he bad during that match as well? That match had maybe 1 challenge total. I am so happy that Purdue won. Now who wants to go to Madison with me?! |
