Is JE just doing the thing where he's taking all the top transfers so no one else gets them?? Smh This really isn't good for the game to have all this top talent sitting on the sidelines instead of being developed and getting game experience. Which of these players could/would have been a national team player but won't because they aren't going to get enough game experience because they thought it was a good idea to sit on the bench and get a few rings?? I know I'm going to hear but the school is great, the team culture is great, yada yada yada. The same goes for Nebraska. It's not good for the game of volleyball as a whole. It's frankly just sad. Hmmmmm, Nebraska has a sh*ty culture. Cook is an absolute as***le and you can see it by looking at him and hearing what the people involved in his program have to say

Is it still a redshirt year if you are no longer on a roster with a team, as Whitney was not for the 2023 season? Yes. What you have to remember is that the meaning behind redshirt is that the athlete has not used a year of eligibility. Whether they were on a team or even enrolled in school does not matter. In this case, she had used two of her four years of eligibility and had two years of eligibility remaining after the 2022 season. After the 2023 season, those are still the numbers. Yes, there’s lots of misunderstanding of the very simple concept of the eligibility clock and what a redshirt season means.

Random thought,
What if the entire premise of “verbal commitment” was eliminated and athletes could only commit, as well as be recruited/talked to by coaches in their senior year?(summer after their junior year to be precise)
Do you think we would see less “recruiting over” because coaches would have a better idea of exactly who they want to offer because they’ve seen their growth closer to when their report date would be?

They are saying WL may be eligible for a 6th year because of her pregnancy. However, not sure WL wants to sit out another year. I doubt anybody posting here knows that. It has only become speculation after the Rutherford announcement.

Which means she could redshirt 2024 and play 2025 & 2026? but didn't she have her baby prior to the 2023 season? So I would think that 2023 would be a redshirt. I don't think your clock stops if you take a year off after you've started playing for D1 college. I think she had the baby in June of 2023. I don't think anyone would be ready to play college D1 volleyball 1 month postpartum

And that ignores the mental side of the equation.

Why does it feel like so many top players leave Kentucky?

Why does it feel like so many top players leave Kentucky? I don't ask why. I thank Kentucky for their generous blessings.

Even Riley Simpson said Hook ‘Em for Carlson, you’re always welcome to as well ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) Okay tbh I’d rather Texas than TCU, like that would’ve made me riot. I cheered for Texas through the tourney, I can make do now that they’re in the SEC 😅 We love you houstonbear15, no matter who you root for. You're always welcome to follow Texas for whatever reason you decide.
