I'm not sure what happened. Cal seemed to br cruising along nicely in the first two games, and BAM Oregon came out. Let me see what the play-by-play indicates.

The last game must have been nerve wracking for Cal and their fans. Still, they were able to pull out the victory on the road. That isn't anything to take lightly in the Pac 10, where road wins are not too easy to come by. Is Oregon any better this year?

They had 3-1 wins over San Francisco and Eastern Washington. They lost 3-1 at Portland State and were swept at Arizona and Arizona State. Like I said, Cal was cruising into a sweep and Oregon just seemed to catch their second wind. Well - a win is better than a loss. I remember when Cal going into Oregon would have been a toss-up even with Carl Fereira as their coach.

Did Sam Carter set in this match? I know she sprained her ankle in practice. No box scores up yet.

Did Sam Carter set in this match? I know she sprained her ankle in practice. No box scores up yet. Live Stats are complete though. oregon.nmn.speedera.net/nmnStats/500/234/stats5623_SUMMARY.htmlCarter with 48 assists, Powers with 1, Pressey/Davis with 2 each. Is Oregon running a 6-2? Heather Madison had 25 assists and Erika Bartruff had 24 assists. Morgan Beck had 10 kills and was hitting about .400 at the break. Looks like she cooled off at the end finishing with 14 kills and 11 errors. Alicia Powers seemed to have the best offensive night with 13 kills hitting .417. Oregon's offense was mainly Kelly Russell and Mira Djuric with 15 and 17 kills each.

If California’s No. 14 ranking is legitimate – and there is no evidence to suggest that it isn’t – then the University of Oregon may not be that far removed from the top 25 volleyball teams in the country.
Hah, oregon close to the 25... my ass!

Hah, oregon close to the 25... my ass! I started off as a Cal fan when they had 7-22, 13-15, 13-15, and 10-18 records in the first four seasons I watched them. I think it might take Oregon a little time to do what Carl Fereira couldn't. Oregon may not be a powerhouse now, but they seem to be in good hands if they can keep up their recruiting. It also sounds like Kelly Russell is the real deal although this is her last season at Oregon.

I just watched the game on tv today.
My, that Pressey girl can jump as high as the bottom of the net. What a display of physical prowess.
And Morgan Beck is sooooooooooo beautiful. Is she really beautiful in person?
Sorry my post is late, I could not forget how amazing that Pressey girl is. And to think that she may just be 5'6". She improved a lot from the time I saw her last year.

5'8 ***
Yeah she's a gem.
Morgan Beck's Usa Volleyball picture was very pretty, I hope when I see her vs. Stanford she will be as visually pleasing.

She improved a lot from the time I saw her last year. The most impressive thing about Angie Pressey's physical talent is how quickly she gets up to her hitting position. A lot of people think that 5'8" with leaping ability means that she's going to give blockers time to set up. Not true. I think I better stay away from the rest of the discussion. I'll just leave you with this pic from the Cal alumni match.
