I see Makenna Crosson has been added to the 2026 recruit list. There's a future of Minnesota thread that goes over recruits etc... you'll find a lot of great information

A mix of future and current Gophers but posting here because I can’t wait for this season. 45 days until Iowa State exhibition match!
USA U19 team is practicing in Colorado Springs and Kelly Kinney went live on Instagram last night sitting with Elena Hoecke. Mckenna and Stella requested to join the live from Minnesota and someone asked the four why they chose Minnesota. Everyone’s answer had “the people” and “culture” in common. Kenny and Stella have a very fun vibe together. Sydney and Olivia were being silly in the comments too. Someone in the comments said “the Stella twins” instead of “the Swenson twins” and everyone got a kick out of that. Maybe they take turns and next week they will be the Olivia twins lol
Just love seeing the energy radiating among this team and the recruits. Hope it pays dividends on and off the court!
Go Gophers!

I love your post! The future seems bright for the Gophers. This year will be interesting as maybe a transitional year. A lot of talent has walked out the door in the past 2 years. But I feel like this year they'll be better at S, MB, and DS, as well as coaching and chemistry. Maybe a dip at L, but on par at OH/Opp.

The NCAA also announced a new rule pertaining to liberos, the defensive specialist on each team dressed in a differently colored jersey who plays in the back row. Until the rule change, teams were only allowed to designate one libero, but now they can designate two. Although this rule has implications for gameplay, it hasn’t caused much in-game or media tension — so the new changes to it aren’t as debated. Women’s volleyball is set to return to action this coming fall, where the implications of the new rules will finally be realized.
How does the second libero for count for substitutions?

Oooh I like them! Something different is nice. Now I want to see if there’s gold or white. Has the team ever worn black with maroon and gold details? I know football has black unis.
I liked the gold jerseys a lot when they wore them last year (or the year before?). I think against Stanford. Never wore them again. I think it was a Stanford match.
Edit: yep it was at Stanford last season. Transfers and commits have worn them in announcements too I guess. Just like the bold flashy gold.

Hebert’s teams wore a lot of gold, I seem to recall. When I picture Dieter or Tabberson or even Harms I tend picture them in a gold uniform.
Gophers have done a lot of recent social media announcements/posts with gold uniforms, so I expect to see one this season too!

I thought it is more of old news. It was announced a while that teams now can play 2 libero system and the men already played with 2 liberos this year (for example, UCLA men this year). With these 2 L rule, what it means is that teams would play one L for serve receive and the other L for defense. And it won't impact the # of substitutions.
