I'm usually not the one who cares about this, but I believe this is the one transition year where (a) the NCAA is NOT sending a standardized court, and (b) there is no requirement for Teraflex (that IS a requirement starting in 2024). Stanford's court looks so much cheaper and worse than the other three regionals. Not great for the ESPN broadcast. Wait, are they not having the standardized court this year at schools? If not, how come? and will it stop for future years? I feel like it is much cooler doing this, than having the schools own court. They are not doing it anymore. Probably because they don’t want to buy and transport four teraflex courts. And nobody wants to play on Sport Court.

Haven't seen ASU play this season so I'm looking forward to this one. These intraconference rematches in the Sweet Sixteen are pretty cool with so much on the line.

Much appreciated! Don't tell Stanford fans but I'm rooting for the Sun Devils, sight unseen. Love the storyline that you've got a new coach and the team goes this far in their first season together. Would be really cool for the Cinderella run to continue.

ASU do the things you’ve previously done.

ASU do the things you’ve previously done. Only problem with that is that one of the things they have previously done this year is get swept by Stanford at Maples.

I just viewed the replay of the Stanford vs ASU in Tempe on Oct. 29 and it was painful. Here's a recap:
1. All but one of Stanford's 12 SEs was on a 1st serve, thereby giving ASU 11 free points. 2. ASU only had 5 SEs, yet they served deep and tough, forcing Miner into many 1-pass or marginal 2-pass situations. 3. Several of Stanford's serve receptions ended up as overpasses. ASU didn't have any serve receive or free ball overpasses. 4. Stanford had 14 hitting errors versus 9 for ASU. 7 of Stanford's errors were spikes that went long or wide versus 2 for ASU. 5. Stanford hitters tipped a lot, and while some some of those tips hit the floor, many were dug and turned into attacks that scored a point for ASU. 6. ASU was very successful digging Kendall Kipp or getting hands on her attacks (block touches). 7. ASU won all the real long rallies (about 4 of them). 8. Francis' inability to close a block resulted in several tools off her hands or gaps that hitters exploited by going angle.
Conclusion: Overall ASU played mostly clean volleyball not shooting themselves in the foot. That combined with good service pressure allowed them to steamroll error prone Stanford.

This will be the last meeting between two Pac-12 teams, unless Oregon or WSU also make the final four.

Will it still be called the Pac-12 with two members? A friend just bought a ticket for tonight, said there weren't many seats left.
