Yeah I'm disappointed in Husker fans for leaving the stands so bare for this one But this is what has happens EVERY year Nebraska hosts. These hardcore fans don't actually WATCH volleyball, they watch their team, and that's fine, for sure, but let’s call it like it is. The 1 seeds hosting is to maximizing regional attendance for the home team, and that is all. The actual attendance for a team not playing in front of a home crowd is no different than if the regionals were random. It also goes back to my gripe about the TV exposure. We aren't really GROWING the game, we are using this tournament to maximizing fan support for a handful of teams that already have a huge fan following. That is also "ok", but I just wish the powers that be just come out and say that rather than feeding us the BS line about growing the sport. Stay salty my friend |
