Not really the best news for Hawaii to join MWC especially when the top teams of Boise State, Colorado State, Fresno State, San Diego State and Utah State will be leaving. Of course this leaves room for Hawaii to continue to be on top of the conference but less room for error due to the very low RPI teams left (even worse than some BW teams) one bright spot will be the addition of UTEP. I also read that they wanted to add one more team from this list; New Mexico State, Idaho, Sacramento State, North Dakota, South Dakota and Northern Arizona. Will this make recruiting even more difficult for Hawaii? I would think so, especially as this list of teams are not great. Why would this make recruitment more difficult? We don’t recruit California much anyway? This move will allow us to get more into Texas(with UTEP, New Mexico and Air Force in the proximity). We have one Cali girl on the current roster and one coming in next season . Other than that. We got Chalei from the North Shore of Oahu and Rachel Purser from Nevada. When UH recruits, they sell rhe program’s history, their successes, their fan base and their visiblity. No UH coaches is going to bring up other schools in their recruiting pitch.

I’m not getting paid to babysit adults on this message board. A whole lot of people (name callers and hypersensitive people alike) need to grow up. I am sure you are not but is it too much to ask for you to be even handed with your warnings? If you can take the time to warn people about posting negative comments about the coaching staff (even ones that are obviously intended to illicit a response aka: "trolling"), you can surely take the time to warn those that are telling people to "shut tf up" and calling people names...Is that too much to ask?

yea I know, the people who forgot to take their meds are just given free range on here Yeah, either they're off their meds or they're immature. Someone once said that people that act like that are like children that think their parents can do no wrong and that anyone that says anything negative about their parents - no matter how true, is to be attacked. Can't have a mature discussion with people like that. First thing out of their mouths is "shut tf up" or some ad hominem attack... OR maybe you actually do need to shut tf up because you are DELUSIONAL if you think the way you and others bring up the coaching staff is worthy of a mature conversation. I don’t feel a need to take someone seriously who isn’t able to start the conversation seriously in the first place.

So if Hawaii is moving to MW who has lesser conference teams, does that mean that Hawaii will be back to hosting three 4-team tournaments in preseason?

I post negative stuff about the coaching staff. Like sometimes I wonder, wtf is Nick doing? or thinking Kaleo is more concerned about his biceps than coaching. 😄

Something that no one has mentioned yet, I do not think is, how will joining the MWC impact viewing the Wahine Volleyball team matches. I mean, will only people in Hawaii be allowed to watch Wahine Matches on Spectrum, if you have an account with them. From what I know the MWC does not have a contract with ESPN, like the BWC does.

I’ll just check it out later this week when UNLV plays

Also got Kahea Moriwaki. And supposedly Makena Biondi but I cant find a confirmation directly from her.

Not against the move to the MWC, but beginning to wonder how long the MWC will allow Hawaii to stay in the Conference having only a High School Football Stadium to play in. There is still no design of a new stadium, and the old stadium is still standing. I heard the Hawaii Athletic Director say today that a new stadium will be built by 2028. Knowing how slowly things move in Hawaii, thinking more like 2032, if at all. Will the MWC stand for that, and if Hawaii is kicked out of the MWC because of this, what will happen to all the other Hawaii sports programs in the MWC. That is my only concern.

I think it's a great deal and that it will bring some stability to Hawaii's sports. Hopefully the savings the athletic department gets from not having to pay travel subsidies will be put to good use. Also, Rachel Purser must be besides herself and jumping for joy. A chance to play in Hawaii and also come home to play in Las Vegas. What a treat for her. Oh good thinking! I forgot that she is an LV girl.
