Why would this make recruitment more difficult? We don’t recruit California much anyway? This move will allow us to get more into Texas(with UTEP, New Mexico and Air Force in the proximity). We have one Cali girl on the current roster and one coming in next season . Other than that. We got Chalei from the North Shore of Oahu and Rachel Purser from Nevada. When UH recruits, they sell rhe program’s history, their successes, their fan base and their visiblity. No UH coaches is going to bring up other schools in their recruiting pitch. Also got Kahea Moriwaki. And supposedly Makena Biondi but I cant find a confirmation directly from her. These players are from Hawaii and or have Hawaii connections so this is not what I meant. At least Purser is from Nevada, so a move to MWC should be good for her decision. |

I have no doubt the stadium will probably be behind schedule, but Hawai'i already has the fish on the hook. No need to get worked up about something (i.e. getting kicked out of the conference) that is still 4-6 years away. I think MW invited Hawaii because of the immediate need to fill the vancancies left by former schools so they can be eligible for football (FBS)? Idk how it works in football-lingo. If MW kicks Hawaii out of the conference in 4-6 years i don’t think Big West will take them back, lol. But Hawaii made an upgrade joining a new conference, more diversity and their not stuck in CA state. That state is in deep cahoots. Brah, California is too big to fail. We get a little over our skies sometimes, but we are more open and forward thinking than most, and that is a strength. The thing that might get us is that magnitude 9.9 earthquake, but if that happens, the tsunami’s getting y’all too. |

I agree with you on wanting a sound and safe building....but I think the red tape especially in Hawaii is super crazy tbh. Living in the PNW and seeing how things are relatively quicker, more efficient and done on a more timely manner than back at home...still bothers me to a degree. No supply chain and the increased difficulties to fix mistakes if there are any errors. Like a state (or other organization) doesn't usually become like this just to become like this. Like the say, regulations are written in blood. I would believe that to be uber true if that only happened with building things in Hawaii. Hawaii government is inept and clueless from the top on down. Even the little things are made hard out there. That was probably the craziness thing and it blew my mind how simple things actually are done effectively here vs at home. |

And I have to think someone like Leyva being able to play in her home town of El Paso come her Junior and Senioe years is also a bonus too! |

It's wider space so you can see more of the sky but there's hardly any clouds. Vegetation seems to have a sepia filter all over. Then i got back home and appreciated our green mountains and blue sky but even if it's sunny out there are always clouds to balance out the brightness. Def better for my eyes |

I'm all for these types of conversations about the coaching and what we see but it's better to keep the decorum and argue with information instead of name calling or gotchas/I told you so type of responses. I know it's hard but it's going to help us have good discussions. There are two posters that I see that are divisive and who's comments seem to come from a nasty place (and no their names are not hapaguy , wahinefan or raian13 .) Those two girls I'm mentioning get nay time from me lol Dust honey dust. I'm certainly one of those posters and I'm not even afraid to admit that. I'm as passionate as they come and my mouth runs real fast on this board. But....I'll always be that ride or die for anything UH sports. I gave up the idea of ever making friends on this board years and years ago. Generic “bad language” is only an issue for those who actively feel like they aren’t susceptible to any criticism. You and others trash the coaching staff and demand firings like a bunch of true Karens(not like our resident VT Karen who is a National treasure). You are not special, there are plenty in other fanbases who are just like you. Poor understanding of managing a program and choose to be intentionally ignorant about challenges the team has faced and would rather oink about firing someone than discuss how to take on these challenges. I swear we are giving way too much energy, myself included, to the worst posters on here. Can we PLEASE discuss something productive? Like how much Hawaii stands to save on travel subsidies and what should take priority as far upgrading our athletic programs and facilities? The one Big Plus for the MWC to have the majority of Hawaii sports programs in the Conference is that it will bring notoriety to the Conference. Especially, when it comes to women's volleyball, women's basketball, and baseball. It is just unfortunate that the MWC does not sponsor sports programs in Hawaii's 2 strongest sports programs, Men's Volleyball, and Women's Water Polo, not to be forgotten Beach Volleyball.

Does anyone know if mountain west network (I.e the website) live streams the volleyball matches for everyone? Or do you need anything special? Yes, Mountain West conference has an application that you can load to your phone or smart TV. It functions similarly to ESPN+, with upcoming, live, and on demand conference matches.
