In a good statistical sign, Tali Hakas's hitting percentage has been slowly going up over the last few weeks and it's now up to .178! We desperately need that second pin to hit over .200.

Not that the season is over or anything because we still can win the BW Tournament but my hope for next year is that Robyn recruits a true oppo, another OH, and of course with Ikenaga graduating we need another Ikenaga/Leyva.

Chalei is good but she's no Kanani and I don't see her making an immediate impact as a true frosh. IMHO we need another experienced D1 OH (hopefully a terminating one like Jolie or BVS) from the portal to fill the void. Same for the oppo. And yeah, as rainbowcard said, Purser is 2026.

Her hitting has been better recently. Hopefully Stella can improve her hitting % too during the 2nd half of the season.

Congrats Caylen, keep it up girl! Proud of how she has progressed and shes got to be Big West player of the year as long as she stays healthy and continues playing like shes been! Would love for Caylen to be POY, but if Hawaii doesn't finish at least third in conference, I don't think she'll get it.

Here’s the thing though. If you’re going to express an opinion that’s perfectly fine. Have all the controversial opinions about the coaching staff that you want. Personally, I feel like 95% of the time people are correlating losses with something the coaching staff did poorly. In MY opinion, that demonstrates someone who lacks general understanding of volleyball, especially this era of ncaa ball. If you’re belittling the coaching staffs commitment to the team, saying that they don’t care, they just want to coach club volleyball, that’s just making up stupid statements, that’s not expressing an opinion. An opinion about the staff is that currently I (and others who I respect on this board have had conversations about) think they do a very poor job at coaching blocking/creating a blocking scheme. That is fair criticism because there is tangible evidence by the numbers and eye test of hitters bouncing on us. There are ways that this can be remedied without major obstacles in the way. Saying some some dumb sh!! like the coaching staff is the reason the Wahine team is on a “downward trajectory” because of losses or lack of higher post season finishes, not being ranked, etc just shows a basic misunderstanding of coaching and sports in general. Not every team can be the “best team in history” and we’ve had highs and lows within the program for the entirety of Robyn’s tenure so far but people like you REFUSE to acknowledge the highs while criticizing the lows and I simply can’t take you people seriously because you’re not operating from a genuine point. And if I don’t take you seriously, and you’re always jumping at the opportunity to say some stupid stuff about the program, I’m going to challenge said stupid stuff. If my language is an issue for you then I’m sure there’s a nunnery forum that you can express your concerns. If you need to shut tf up, I’m gonna tell you to shut tf up. If you were really confident with your opinion, you’d back it up, not cry about the way that someone disagrees with it. Pearl clutching and being the language police is an interesting combo choice, but go off, you do you. Yes about the blocking. It's repulsive and giving PAL lol Exactly, I think the staff deserves criticism on that front because it is a really poor part of their game especially considering how weak of a serving team we are. The staff needs to realize they will be more successful next season if they address their deficiencies. I don’t want to hear fake news about Coach Ang and Robyn beef, and I believe she’s staying in Sweden throughout the remainder of her parents lives. We just need to fill this obvious hole that the staff has.

We have all that coming in. Chalei Reid (OH), Kahea Moriwaki (L/DS) and Rachel Purser (MB/OPP) The third verbal was Makena Biondi and not Purser. If UH wants a true OPP, they need to get Veronika Petrova and let her grow. Her highlights has her hitting tons of D sets so she has that shot down pretty good already. She’s about 6-1 and has a fairly good reach of 10ft.
