I think RAM needs to take advantage of the popularity of Wahine volleyball to develop some sources of NIL money, and stop refusing to participate in NIL bidding wars (if that is in fact what happened when she was seeking a replacement for Paula). Otherwise she will continue to whiff on recruits that the Wahine need to bolster their roster. Saying stuff like "we aren't going to bid on players" is another way of saying "we don't a lot of NIL funds to give out". It's not like their trying--Vball doesn't have a sugar daddy like some of the other sports. Players are getting NIL deals but nothing huge like the big schools. They are trying.

Catching up on the UC Irvine game. I hate to be the "things will get better after a loss" but I was worried that asking the Wahine to play 6 consecutive clean games in a row (something that they haven't done this whole season) was going to be too much. They are almost always better after a loss--so I think that after losing this one they will come out fired up for the BWC tournament.

TBH I feel Na Wahine actually over-performed considering the pre-season/early season eulogies that were floating around. DGMW, many of us had legit concerns (me being in half full mode ;-)) but still concerned NTL..here we are a bi into the semi's. WoooHooo!

How many matches did the team all were on their "A" game? or same page.

Unfortunately, this hasn't happened yet on the road all year unless coming back to reverse sweep UCSD is considered a"good" game. It's interesting that their first match might be a replay against UCI at The Bren. If that's not exactly the matchup the team wants, then they don't have the mindset to be a champion.

I was hoping the team had the right mindset going into that last match against Irvine as that was the last "revenge" match as UH avenged their other conference losses but they looked flat and out of it. Let's hope they refocus.

Daredevil808 recognized the Hawaii Athletic Department for giving lei to Seniors on the opposing team on Wahine Senior Night. I"d like to recongnize Aunties past and present who have been giving lei to opposing players, coaches and staff at each home match for many, many years. is the "Aunties' Corner" hereditary like kings & queens or is there a Council of Aunties that pick who will be their representatives when the current ones retire?

So Wahine get either the Anteaters or the Aggies. Frankly, I'd like another crack at UC Irvine. We need to exorcise our demon and pound the last BWC team we haven't beaten yet this year. Go Bows!

UH also got very lucky that they started to put together strong performances at the same time that the other teams have started to show wear and tear. UCSD and UC Davis have been on a downward spiral and definitely weren't the same teams that gave us fits in the beginning of the season

One thing to note, this is the first time we haven't had a middle blocker not higher than honorable mention since 2013 (we had two HM that year). I think every other year in program history we have had one (I could be wrong)
