I noticed that the Wahine has yet to announce their signing class. I wonder if they are holding out for one more and then announce it at one time or they could be holding out until season renewals go out and maximize the excitement of these girls.
There is a lot to hype for this class. All three local recruits are in the Hawaii’s top 15. Mili was D2 player of the year while Adrianna was D1 player of the year. All three were All State. Adrianna was 2nd team AA.
Maddie was dominant at MB for her nationally ranked Sierra Canyon team.
Victoria was El Paso defensive player of the year.
Got to be one of the better recruiting classes Robyn has had. Three could potential play as a freshman….Maddie, Mili and Victoria. Adrianna will be behind an all conference setter and national team invitee in Kate Lang so she will need to wait her turn.
Malinah is the further away from being ready to play but oozes athleticism and physicality. With hard work, she could be contributing down the road.

Hawaii volleyball didn't even have anything on its social media announcing signees. I get that maybe the official presser *could* be done in the Spring, but its really unfortunate the women's volleyball did nothing to announce their 2024 class when almost all other UH sports had official pressers. The softball team had like 3 pressers as new recruits signed. Even if Hawaii has one or two possibly signing in the Spring/Summer, it would be nice to acknowledge and celebrate the five that signed in the Fall. Just saying.

Like I mentioned, there could be other things in play here. UH may want that “buzz” of announcing this class just before season ticket renewal. It’s a marketing and money thing. I don’t think it’s really a big deal. Fans like us on this forum already know who’s on board. This ploy could be to target those who are not hardcore fans and making an announcement just before renewal could help season ticket sales. Announcing it now is kinda blah since the season is over and Wahine Volleyball is out of mind now. UH could schedule a spring match with Texas(hehehe) and then announce the signing in tandem to max exposure.

So I was able to watch a bit of Maddie Way/Her Club team at todays tournament…it was honestly like a fraction of the end of the 3rd set they were losing but I think it’s safe to say that Mili/Jacyn will start.

Interesting! What did you see out of her? Lol well first thing is I think she’s closer to 5’11” than 6’1”, I saw the end of a third set so idk how well she established herself as a blocker but it did seem like the immediate shot was to avoid her. She’s not slow to the pin but I think she will definitely be the one that’s going to need the weight room most out of the 3 middles. But I think more than anything, I wish she competed on a stronger team. They aren’t bad at all but wouldn’t say anyone besides her setter looked college ready. But it’s only the second event of the SCVA season so there’s time for improvement. I didn’t get a chance to see her swing as they lost the third set pretty convincingly and they were done after that.

Yeah, I agree with the height assessment. I got to watch her at the Ann Kang and she was close in height to Malinah. I remember liking her speed and footwork on approach, transition and on the block. I did think she was a little lacking in terms of power.

Yea I think she’s a very disciplined and technically sound middle so it’ll just be a matter of getting stronger faster and blocking well at the next level

She could fit the mold of a Lauren Duggins type played (which would be a great thing) especially with her slides.

But Duggins had a very high volleyball IQ. We'll find out if Maddie can continue to improve. I hope she stays healthy through her final club season.

Wow! Congrats to Adrianna on her honor!
It's nice that the Wahine can look forward to having the Hawaii Gatorade POY stay home.
