I haven’t been excited about a recruit in quite some time But I’m really excited about Adrianna She just reminds me of the Hawaii girls of old, who could do all and just were gamers She’s gonna be fun to watch Same! I can't wait to see what she can do at the next level. Hopefully the girls have a safe club/spring season heading into their freshmen seasons.

Woohoo!!
Adrianna is an athletic 6'0 setter from Hawaii that we know can also hit and block. Our last 6'0 setter was Carey.
Glad we could finally keep one of those "Hawaii setters" home lol.
Clearly there's no transfers this spring semester tho. Guess we'll see what summer may have in store for the Bows roster

Mahalo to those who tried to reply to my question about Amber. Although I was hoping for some factual info I did appreciate those who gave it a try. I did a quick google sweep of Amber online and nothing showed up. I don't do social media so I couldn't go there. As I said previously, all I saw was Amber not on the Supernova roster and a note that said she was playing overseas.
The team has not started practicing...just finishing up signing contracts so Amber wasn't cut. After all she was their #1 draft pick. Checking around their site, some league info mentioned that the team retains the rights to an unsigned draftee for a specified number of years (I forget exactly). So I guess its entirely possible that Amber returns to the US if the league proves viable (fingers crossed)

It was a crazy 3 ish weeks following the NCAA championship watching teams lose players.

I really think the ACTUAL practicing of what they preach from the staff of the players who are not producing should assume that someone will be able to come in and see what they can do. A lot of other programs say this but don’t actually do it.

We could still see some players leave after the Spring, but my hopes is everyone stays and builds toward a strong 2024 season. The pieces are there for Hawaii to still be competitive even without Igiede. Transfer portal and what its done to women's volleyball (really all sports) is quite controversial... but I'm happy that Hawaii has been pretty strong in retention, minus the 2021 class (Johnson, Leoniak, Dmirtas), which we all know was a unique recruiting year. Kiraly and DeGoede stepped away from DI volleyball, and Akana and Westerberg decided to forgo their last year of eligibility. In fact, I would say Hawaii has flourished through the portal given players like Akiu, Gaskin, Choy, Van Sickle, Rasmussen, Ham, Byrd, Edmonds, Evans, Cowell have all flourished at UH. In this day and age, it's pretty impressive how Ah Mow and company have kept majority of their roster in tact.

Okay, can someone, just one person, establish themselves as a six rotation pin hitter, so this Wahine team can run a 6-2, as it seems to be begging for, with the talent on the roster?

Upon improving until next season, I can only see Caylen or Stella doing this task. Hopefully their back row attack can be key. Losing Amber is a tough one to swallow. 🤞🏽

I think towards the end of the season we saw more of Caylen and Stella play more in the back. Hakas did provide towards the end up front and as a captain. I’m banking more on Caylen’s and Stella’s back row attack.

Wow, people were so high on Paula Guersching. Now there is not even a mention of her name anymore. This just tells me, a lot of people here, do not know what they are talking about, or even know what volleyball talent is, when it even smacks them in the face. People here just like to talk BIG, like they know a whole lot about volleyball, what a BIG JOKE.
I believe we will see a very different Paula Guersching come the 2024 season. People need to remember, Paula got to Hawaii late, and when she got to Hawaii, she was already rehabbing an injury she had. So she missed out on Fall practice. Whatever practice time she did have was during the season. Which does not say much. Going into the 2024 season, Paula will finally have a Spring and Fall practices under her belt, which will make a very BIG difference in her development, especially the Spring practice sessions.

No ones not brining her down or anything. She could be a total impact in the front but do you think she’s a 6 rotation player?
