Wow, people were so high on Paula Guersching. Now there is not even a mention of her name anymore. This just tells me, a lot of people here, do not know what they are talking about, or even know what volleyball talent is, when it even smacks them in the face. People here just like to talk BIG, like they know a whole lot about volleyball, what a BIG JOKE. I believe we will see a very different Paula Guersching come the 2024 season. People need to remember, Paula got to Hawaii late, and when she got to Hawaii, she was already rehabbing an injury she had. So she missed out on Fall practice. Whatever practice time she did have was during the season. Which does not say much. Going into the 2024 season, Paula will finally have a Spring and Fall practices under her belt, which will make a very BIG difference in her development, especially the Spring practice sessions. No matter where Robyn puts Paula Guersching, she just cannot put a ball down. Paula Guersching is going to hit negative, wherever Robyn puts her. Actually would like to see Robyn switch Caylen Alexander and Tali Hakas. Have Caylen Alexander at Opposite, and Tali Hakas at Left Outside. You’re wrong. Shut up. You being a fangirl doesn’t negate a player’s experience over a true freshman. You are the one who should SHUT UP!!!!! Paula Guersching, is just a so-so player. 🙋♀️

No ones not brining her down or anything. She could be a total impact in the front but do you think she’s a 6 rotation player? Paula had some games where she was passing dimes. Im such an old woman. 👵🏽 What’s passing dimes? lol Regardless if that’s good or bad, I got faith in them all but my hopes is for Caylen and Stella for attacking reasons.

As of now, only Tali, and maybe Caylen, can be viewed as true six rotation players. Don’t know how Stella name cane up. She has yet to establish herself as even an average passer. Not much rep to say one way or another.
Caylen had two years of D1 level training while Tali had experience with her countries NT. Tali is still inconsistent with her passing but she should be ahead of Stella in the passing category.
Stella was recruited for her offense and her ability to terminate. Tali was recruited for her all around game. Robyn is going to have to figure the plus and minus of having each of them in the match and which will help us win.
Paula can also work her way there in the off season. She will know what she needs to do to remain in the lineup so you can bet your pineapple pie that she will be working hard on those skills. .

I'm personally hoping we see a Caylen/Paula OH duo. Maybe put Tali at OPP and utilize her like UCLA did with McCall. I remember they pulled her into the passing rotation to keep the libero (Zoe Fleck) in the center at all times.

I brought up Stella because even if she was a Fresh (and how long Robins leash was with the girls) Robin still had her play in the back with the little time she had. Not only that, I think she’s going to come in clutch for hitting in the back next season.

Not that anyone cares but I was not overly impressed with Tali in the front row, but do like what she does in the back row. I still want to see what Stella can give us in the front row

Tali can slide right into Riley's shoes as a sub-.200 starting hitter.
I'm kidding!

Passing is priority #1 for an OH. If you can't pass, your setter has limited or no option.
If Stella is a decent hitter but a bad passer and a below average defender, she will not see the floor. Passing and defense are just as important as the ability to kill the ball.
The only way someone with limited defense and average passing stays on the floor is if she can hit at a high %.
At 5-9, unfortunately, I don't see Stella being able to be a hit at such a high clip that she will remain on the floor just to hit. She is going to have to improve in other aspects of her game.

Stella showed some great pop and power along with a big jump. I think she has the tools to contribute.
