If that is the case, we either need to go after another MB or have Purcell Telefoni play MB her freshman year to make up for Maddie. There is no other player on the current roster that can make a move one to the middle. I doubt Adrianna will want to experiment with that to potentially see the court as a back up middle so Malinah is going to be the logical choice….despite some people not being to high on her as a D1 level player. Adrianna plays middle if needed We have Bamis. we have Sylvester. Purcell can play there IF needed. Plus she should start taking reps soon if recovery time is 4-6 months. I think well be ok I guess that is the optimistic view but she would miss out on 4-6 months of training and it would set her back. I don’t think you can be on the shelf for that long and then be able to go thru the rigors of Robyn’s training without falling behind. This will definitely set her back some….maybe up until the conference starts. If she can play herself into form by conference, that would be great.

Maybe a grad middle would be nice, but idk if one will enter

Adrianna playing middle shouldn’t even be remotely considered.
Redshirt Maddie Way in the first year, let her recover and get back up to competitive shape. No use I’m trying to get her playing right away.
Just like Akana, I don’t think it would do her much good to be training Malinah in the middle when the projection is her being on the pin, it's still an option.
I would have preferred an impact Rightside pin but if any high level middles who could start right away show up in the portal and we have a chance, maybe that’ll be the way to go, but I would have loved to see both Bamis and Sylvester starting

Honestly if there’s anything I learned from Caylen Alexander, it’s to not judge off of early season club games. Even my take on Maddie Way I think should be taken with a grain of salt. Athletes will significantly up their game when surrounded by a team of other D1 players the staff has specifically recruited to complement each other. Exactly. I remember when people had their doubts on Amber too when they saw the videos she had out on her before she came to Hawaii. In fact a couple folks thought she wouldn't even crack the starting lineup and was even surprised when RAM started her in her first game of the season in her freshman year. So yes, take it like a grain of salt.

You are one sprain ankle away from disaster if you don't have a 3rd MB ready to step in and at least have some reps there. The middle doesn't have to be impactful. Just someone who can be serviceable and be able in case of injury or even play some in blowouts. I wondering if Tyla would take up that challenge? She will have a hard time seeing the court as a pin with Paula, Caylen, Tali, Stella all ahead of her on the chart. If Maddie can't go, Tyla could be that third MB. She could see more court time as a MB if she was to make that move. The current pins are going to be hard to beat out.

Lol it’d only be our second time in 3 seasons taking a chance on only having 2 middles! But yea I would prefer Tyla making the switch and still looking for that impact rightside

Maddie should redshirt so she won’t lose a year because she won’t be practicing much at least not the way the other girls will be and it would be a shame to lose a year of a potentially impact player! www.tiktok.com/t/ZT8WVGtQK/

Maddie's recent injury is unfortunate. But maybe something good will come of it? I pray that she heals not only quickly but completely.

I just want someone who is good and reliable on the right side. The last 6’6” player we had was literally useless lol
