I've been concerned about our middle situation since we found out that Maddie got hurt and had surgery. Our outsides next year we have Paula, Caylen, Stella, and Hakas. In a pinch we could insert Adriana or Purcell-Telefoni and even Mane in an extreme pinch. That makes 7 pin hitters. For middle next year we will have Bamis, Mili, and Maddie as our true middles. 3 middles - that's it. Bamis I'm not sold on and Maddie is coming off of a knee injury/surgery and will definitely be behind, and both Mili and Maddie have zero D1 college experience. We are WAY thinner next year at middle than pin hitters but for some reason some were insisting on here that we needed another pin hitter. But like I said, I'm glad to see some are coming around to see that another middle should be our priority. Hawaii needs more DSs/libs. I'm happy with Ikenaga and Leyva but yeah, it would be nice to have a couple of walk on transfer ds's...it's strange because Dave always kept a bunch of littles on the roster - Robyn not so much....

Everyone have their own philosophies and preferences on liberos. Maybe Robyn doesn’t like a big roster where there are too many “unproductive” players. If there are 6 smalls on the team, then repetition will be spread out and the starter and the immediate backup will lose valuable practice time. It they are not ready to play at this level and would not see much PT, why keep them on the roster just to take up space and use up resources?
I can see both sides of the argument. More players equal more competition may result in better play. On the other side, more player means bigger roster to manage and more stress. Robyn is kind of a perfectionist. A walk-on struggling to pass causes as much grief to her as the starting libero struggling to pass. She probably don’t need the extra headaches.
Then there is the issue with budget. She has to work within her means so extra bodies means uniform, extra food, extra body to cover for medical expense, etc…
Lots of stuff to consider when running a team.

Ah Mow has basically has kept three libero's through out her tenure year in and out. We have three going into next season in Ikenaga, Lane and Leyva., so I don't expect that to change.
For better or worst, Ah Mow wants hitters playing 6-rotations, so you clearly see her going after one that can (Wagoner, Ham, Geursching, Hakas, Reid, etc.) or trying to develop outsides (Alexander, Adeyemi, etc.) that will play all the way around.

As for this year, another middle with proven D1 experience and production would be ideal. But in a relatively quiet off season for Hawaii transfer-wise and no scholarships to give, I'm sure any transfer that comes in would need to be an absolute game-changer - unless they walk on.

Both Robyn and Dave are similar in that they don't like to allocate a large amount of scholies to liberos/DS's

I'm just saying how he ran his and how Robyn run hers are not necessarily the same. There is no right or wrong in this scenario. Do I have to run every opinion of Dave thru him now? Geez..…I see him quite a bit at matches but it's bordering on silliness to approach him and ask him about my opinion of him.

Amber was MVP in her pro debut today Is this a good club team to start on as a rookie? she was only eligible to play as of this weekend which is weird… bc Roma only have two more games left in their season lol It’s fine. It’s weird she couldn’t play earlier

Amber was MVP in her pro debut today Is this a good club team to start on as a rookie? I’d say playing in Italy as a rookie is one of the better leagues you could join. It’s too bad she didn’t play earlier in the season because Roma is one of the mid to lower tier teams for the league, so she probably would have been starting a lot and getting some good experience against some of the best players in the world.

This last match against Novara was important for Roma in order to make the playoffs. Norava was already in. Now Roma is also in.
